Aug 11th 2009 3:10AM To me, 31 bosses translates into lots of easy encounters - tank n' spank with some gimmick, and maybe 4-5 bosses who actually require tactics.
Aug 9th 2009 9:41AM As a raider, I'm quite disappointed with the patch.
The 3.2 raiding philosophy looks to me a bit like "Hey, we have a shiny new patch for you with lots of new stuff and a new raid! ...but you can only do one boss right now. Oh, you two-shot that new boss? on both difficulties currently accessible to you? hmm... well, go do Ulduar some more!"
I don't know about other people, but I'm honestly getting a bit tired with Ulduar. No, I don't have the 1 Light in the Darkness achievement, nor have I killed Algalon.
I don't understand the weird hard-mode system that 3.1 introduced, mostly because it creates the following mindset: "ok, we can either kill this boss in about 10 minutes, get our loot and move on, or spend 3 hours perfecting it with some added element to get slightly better loot".
The decision is very hard on raid leaders, because normal mode is boring, but hard-mode can become frustrating pretty quickly when knowing you can just remove that added element, kill the boss easily and move on.
I do like how they've included seperate normal and hard modes in Coliseum, because now the choice is much easier - clear normal mode first for easy loot, then move on to hard mode for the challenge. I just wish they let us experience all the content as soon as the patch was released instead of making us wait a month to see the entire thing.
My 2 cents, anyway.
