Mar 15th 2010 6:33PM The middle paragraph I made was a bit muddy after reading it. What I am trying to say though is opportunity cost is a value set by each individual and there isn't a standard for evaluating it. Therefore, as far as some people are concerned getting those materials are indeed free.
Mar 15th 2010 6:29PM Heh, convincing people this isn't hard at all. It's why gold sellers are so prevalent. The real world time you could put into a job and make money to buy gold WAAAAY outweighs trying to earn that in game.
I understand this idea very much so and I am an AH tycoon on my server. But you are missing a point here and it is when people get those items and don't sell raw mats, and instead turn them into other various crafted items. To those people it is like they got them for free and the cost of obtaining them wasn't much, however if you are just playing the AH you can't compete with someone that does that and just wants to unload on the market and get their money as quick as possible.
Plus when you get stuff from when activities you normally do; like daily quests or raiding all those items you came across are free because the initial intent was not to solely farm for those materials.

Nov 8th 2009 4:07PM I've continued to see a large number of new players come to this game. It never fails when i'm running a dungeon I will inevitably come across a player that has never made it to 80 yet and I have to do a lot of explanations on how to do the basic things EVERYONE should know when playing. I remember my first experience in this game just being awful and would never have stuck with it without friends that could explain things to me.
This is also prime time to see what does and doesn't work for new games they plan on coming out with while still making the wow experience more fun and accessible.
Mar 13th 2009 6:19PM Mike... you sir fail. And the reason why the game is ruined for many of us.
Dec 3rd 2008 8:48PM This was pretty a pretty clear action to stop scammers.... Me along with a few of the other wealthier members on our server started getting scam mail as soon as these statistics were released. I can only assume this is blizzards reaction to such actions.
