Of monks, mains, and the ability to change {WoW}

Apr 3rd 2012 1:03AM I've been playing since TBC and I've changed main once since them. I played a DPS warrior from Kara to mid-Ulduar, then I rolled a druid healer just to what it was about (healing sounded scary to me) and I loved it so much that I switched to healing when I joined a new guild. I still love her to bits despite all the resto druid QQ - I don't think we're as underpowered as they say. I plan to stick with her in Mists and beyond!

(Oh, and for a definition: my main is the character I raid on. Anything else is an alt, regardless of their number of pets, titles or hours played.)

Mar 17th 2012 12:29PM Yes. You need to create the toon, then go to b.net and ding it to 80.

Blizzard further explains the new Scroll of Resurrection {WoW}

Mar 17th 2012 12:28PM This wasn't clear to me in the beginning: "friend who sent you the scroll" means "the exact character the scroll was sent from". I thought I could transfer to *any* realm where my friend had characters, but it doesn't work like that. I was sent an invite from a toon on Alonsus-EU and I could only move my new toon to Alonsus-EU; I could not move it to Draenor even though my friend had a character there.

(By the way, the char needs to be 80 before you move it. So if you're creating a level 1: create the toon, log off, go to b.net and ding it to 80, log into the toon - otherwise the game won't see it as a level 80 -, then go to b.net and transfer it.)

The Queue: I would not hire Tails {WoW}

Feb 27th 2012 11:47AM And you can probably ticket a GM to get them back, if they do expire.

The Queue: I would not hire Tails {WoW}

Feb 27th 2012 11:44AM This is what I did for my recently-dinged resto druid.
* Bracers and hands from AH (ilvl 378)
* Belt from AH (ilvl 397)
* Chest, helm, shoes - crafted PvP blues (ilvl 377)
* Epic PvP shoulders, trinket, ring - I had some honor saved up and I did a couple of hours of BGs (ilvl 390)
Note: PvP gear is not always the best way to go, but I am very confident on my baby druid since my main is also a resto druid.
* Relic and pants for JP I gathered doing random dungeons til 85 (ilvl 378)
* MH, OH, second ring, second trinket, neck - crappy stuff from regular heroics.

I managed to hit the new heroics a couple of hours after I dinged, and LFR a couple of days later. It would've been even faster if my main had VP to spend for BoEs. You'll spend some money, but you might be lucky like me and find some decent gear for reasonable prices on the AH.

The Queue: I'm on the bus {WoW}

Feb 25th 2012 2:36PM I don't have MoveAnything and this happens to me quite frequently (also, my glyphs UI dissapears). Since it's so easily fixed, I never bothered to investigate.

The Queue: A giddy thing {WoW}

Feb 4th 2012 3:07PM Happens to me a lot - XP, windowed full screen mode... I thought there was something wrong with my computer, so I'm glad to hear it's been happening to other people!

Profanity filters, homophobic slurs, and Blizzard's shaky relationship with the LGBT community {WoW}

Jan 28th 2012 10:24AM People get reported for saying all the women belong in the kitchen? oO I'm sure the GMs who get that gem of a ticket love having their time wasted. Newsflash: this is not the playground and ticketing over an old dumb joke is useless.

Breakfast Topic: Do your WoW and real-life friendships overlap? {WoW}

Jan 28th 2012 4:27AM I visited 3 or 4 countries because of friends I met in WoW (I live in Europe). I've kept in touch with some, lost touch with some... but I hope I'll never lose touch with one of them, who's become one of my best friends! (The only downside? She lives 2000km away so we can't have IRL girls' nights... but I'm visiting her this year for the 3rd time and meeting her newborn!)

But the most unexpected thing was finding out that my childhood friend played WoW. She never was a gamer and she moved to another country 10 years ago, we kept in touch through letters and, as technology evolved, through the internet, but we didn't talk so often. Then I found out her boyfriend played WoW and got her hooked too, so we had a blast leveling chars! Even if we're on her German-speaking realm and I can't understand a word :P I'm going to see her in 2 weeks and we'll probably derp our way through some heroics \o/
