The OverAchiever: The worst (maybe) holiday achievements {WoW}

Jan 26th 2012 8:08PM Not to be a smart-aleck, but I got the the entire elders achievement (and one step closer to the drake) done in two days, about 12~16 hours total (I didn't sit there and time it, but it was somewhere in there). Now to be fair, I had two advantages.

One, I had the guide right on this website. That not only helped guide me in a logical order, but helped me kill two birds with one stone many times (e.g. while you are here, got get the boss in the instance nearby for the elders of the dungeons quest). Making the runs in a logical order and a "plan" saved me a ton of time. Thank you guys so much for those guides.

The second thing that helped is that I'm an 85 Demon lock. To that end, I have my own personal tank. Every time something attacks me, I ignore it and the demon kills it. So I don't even have to stop to kill things, I just keep running and doing my thing. Oh, and a super fast flying speed helps too.

I feel more sorry for the horde. While I did have two enter at least two horde cities, the one in Ogrimmar I was able to reach from the air. I plopped down, nabbed the coin and flew away before anyone batted an eye. The one in UnderCity was a little deeper in, however that area is generally pretty empty, and it was that way when I went, so no problem.

Horde on the other hand, has to get into friggin IronForge to get the coin. Yeah, you have some options. You can run in the pit, or fly overhead, and make it to the coin unless someone is camping out waiting for you. But still. Odds are good you're gonna get ganked.

Breakfast Topic: Spill your 5-man PUG stories here {WoW}

Jan 26th 2012 4:21PM It is funny that you mentioned the group being a mana drain on heals. I was running my lvl 40'ish Holy through an instance, and I swear it seemed like the tank must have been naked or something, because the second he got hit by anything his health dropped like a stone. I spent most of my time spamming flash heals just to keep him alive. As soon as a group was done I'd shout MANA! and he'd ignore me every time, and run off and aggro more baddies.

At one point he just started to aggro random baddies that were off the beaten path, and I asked him to please stop. He started to berate me. "Hey, it's extra experience. You don't see anyone else complaining do you?" Of course not jerk-face, because no one else has to heal your sorry tush. And I wouldn't be complaining either except that you're a mana suck, and won't even let me stop to mana up.

On the other hand, since I'm complaining about PUG's, (and sadly, many of them are very similar to that) I *have* met some wonderful players. In fact, one group ended up running about 5 instances in a row, and before we left, we all exchanged "real-ids" just in case we get the chance to hook up again. I love when that happens.

Before I go - folks - PLEASE - be nice to your healer. We absolutely live to heal you and make sure you are having a great time, and live through the most dangerous encounters. It kills us when we fail at that, even if you pulled half the darn room at once. So please don't treat us like dirt, and remember to let us mana up before/after a boss.

Official patch notes for patch 4.3.2 {WoW}

Jan 24th 2012 9:12AM Maybe I'm misunderstanding, but I don't have a problem with a someone having two copies of the same loot, as long as it's fair. That is to say, let's say I have a "Robe of Awesomeness" (ROA). If that item drops again, I choose "greed" instead of need (it is fair to argue that since I am wearing my ROA, I shouldn't even be able to choose need). If another clothie wants it, he can choose need. If not, or if there are no clothies, I see it as fair game. I can sell it or disenchant it. So why can't I have two copies of the same item?

3 time-saving WoW keyboard shortcuts you may not know {WoW}

Jan 12th 2012 8:41AM If you are at the AH with the buying window open, shift-clicking an item in your inventory will enter that item into the search bar for you. If you have a crafting window open then you can click on an ingredient in the materials list and it will do the same thing.
