May 9th 2010 3:46PM I think the real problem here lies not with the specs in their most basic form itself Christian. In a vacuum I think frost would be able to close the gap fine now. Instead I think the problem lies in 2p t10 and how valuable it is to a raiding mage.
Think about it for a moment. Whenever your Missile Barrage, Hot Streak or Brain Freeze procs you gain 12% haste for 5 seconds.
The Arcane Mage with ICC level haste and with that proc up can get just about 4 casts off in that time each of which have a 40% chance to proc Missile Barrage.
Hot Streak requires 2 back to back crits by the firemage but in a 25man most raiding firemages are pushing 65 to 70% crit so again you have good odds. I know in a 25m setting on my mage up with all the haste buffs I'm at a 1.8 or 1.9 cast fireball in this time so you can get 3 straight fireball casts off during the Pushing the Limit.
The problem lies with Brain Freeze since it only has a 15% chance to proc. Assuming you are setup in your haste gear you can again get about 4-5 casts off. Brain Freeze however only has a 15% chance to proc per cast. Compare that to Missile Barrage and you just won't be able to keep up that lovely buff as much.
Another problem with frost is that your pet does not scale with haste at all and it's scaling with spellpower is laughable.
TL;DR Brain Freeze needs a higher % proc chance on cast.

Jul 22nd 2009 7:35PM Also if you send him a PM on the website, please put WoW-Cube in the title so he knows what it is for.
Jul 22nd 2009 7:02PM Although I agree that some of the more named brand computers are priced through the roof. If someone is looking to get an awesome gaming computer for relatively cheap ($599 for the tower only) my GM actually sells them online. http://www.wow-cube.com They take on average about 3 weeks to a month after purchase to arrive at your house but they run wow beautifully in both raids and pvp. What's more they are a LOT cheaper than many of the other computers you talked about here.
so the website is http://www.wow-cube.com or you can visit our guild website and send a private message to Garreth at http://www.downfallguild.org
That being said, I have also found out a lot of information reading these blogs the last few days, so thank you for that.
P.S. Downfall is an Alliance based raiding guild on Gorgonnash US PvP.
Apr 4th 2009 2:38PM you CAN trinket Judgement of Justice in PvP and it can be cleansed. This was done during the 2.s patches to minimize druidic QQ because they couldn't get rid of it.
Mar 31st 2009 8:39AM Yes this IS news.
The first part is the simple news about the realms being down.
The second part is news from someone trying to find a small glimpse of light in a storm and letting us know by the end that things are calm for now.
I understand that some people reading this may live in perfect where there is no such thing as a natural disaster and their economy is not in a downturn.
For the rest of us though, we often turn to fantasy and humor to try to paint a better picture of what we are facing outside. We used to call these people artists fyi.
Mar 27th 2009 2:28PM @Matthew
You however forgot 3 raid buffs that DO increase strength however.
Mark of the Wild (Small buff but a buff)
Strength of Earth Totem (you just gained at 20% increase in this totem alone)
and finally you forgot BoK, which is where you will find that your new imp 'zerker stance really shines
In reality although your AP might not change in solo combat, you will notice higher changes overall in raid settings.
Yes my main is a ret paladin, yes my favorite alt is my arms warrior

Mar 23rd 2009 11:00AM Geez way to distract people in class/at work Ferarro ;-)
And I honestly think that after actually TRYING for it for the last coupla weeks, its probably easier/less stressful just to not mention it and kinda just go as is.
Most people I have talked to are like Matticus and Ferarro in that it was a pleasant surprise :D
Feb 4th 2009 12:11PM The catch however is that many holy pallies take that ret talent in pvp.
This can be a great boon to a holy paladins team, however if they encounter a double dps combo the team going against the paladin can split dps and effectively achieve an easy win.
Now if the holy pallies had bacon on the other hand........
Feb 4th 2009 8:28AM In the beginning Turn Evil only worked on Undead and paladins complained that it had no use.
So, listening to the paladin community they gave it the ability to work on Demons and Undead. The problem was the spell still failed in PvP because it could be interrupted by the warlock's felpuppy which was the reason paladins wanted the fear to begin with.
So they finally go and make it respectable, then they rightly so gave it an 8 second CD so I couldn't play Lock/DK Ping Pong.
This change however is stupid. Its instant cast use makes it useful in pvp and the cooldown is perfect for it having done arenas over the weekend with it as usual.
And as Ferraro said, heaven forbid balance is brought up against DKs and Illidan =/
I'm counting down till Season 7&8 as I figure that is when the major pally fixes will be coming again.
