Breakfast Topic: Calling it quits {WoW}

Jan 2nd 2009 11:35AM As a healer (Paladin), I've met my fair share of people that simply cannot grasp how certain aspect of the game works.

Back soon after Wrath launched, I was level 74 with a group level 70-71 pugging Nexus. Warrior tank, with a warlock, warrior, and rogue as DPS. I am usually wary of pugs, but I was asked by the tank - who is from the top guild on my server - to heal. I thought it'd be fine. I thought I'd see how the pros do it and what not.

We go in. I am having the hardest time keeping this guy alive, mainly because this guy cannot keep aggro off me, the healer. Finally, we get to the dogs, and lo and behold, I'm silenced. Bubble. 12 seconds. Both dogs immediately return to me as my bubble fades, because the tank dies. His friend, the warrior DPS, dies as well. Immediately, I am yelled at; horrible healer, blah blah, etc.

Not to be arrogant or anything, but I think I'm good healer, so I check this guys' armory. This guy is tanking without Shield Mastery, Last Stand, and some other talent (Don't remember which) that just made my jaw drop.

I get angry, tell this guy I'm sorry my heals suck so bad that even the dogs want to kill me, and he can find himself a good healer and try again. Drop group, get my own group together, and we go in.

I haven't been in a wipe in Regular Nexus since then.

Oh, and for the record, the guy was kicked out of the guild the next day. I never had the heart to ask why, but apparently I missed where this guy is known server-wide as a failtank.
