WoW Moviewatch: Don't Make Me Get My Main {WoW}

Aug 24th 2009 12:47PM Great video, but it's what PvP truly ends up being in the end.

Most won't attack a single target without a few of their friends to make it easy. :P

Still, Cranius always delivers. :)

Blizzcon 2009: Official Cataclysm FAQ {WoW}

Aug 21st 2009 4:01PM Not sure if this is true yet, but supposedly at least Orgrimmar will be split in two, and the Gnomes retake Gnomeregan.

Would be interesting to see something happen to Ironforge as well.

Blizzcon 2009: Official Cataclysm FAQ {WoW}

Aug 21st 2009 3:39PM Looks way too frigging cool (and I love the reskins of the Worgen & Goblins).

So much unused lore is also coming back. I can't wait for this exp pack. :)

Tom Chilton talks about 3.2 and the future of World of Warcraft {WoW}

Jul 7th 2009 8:40AM As would I. Having played in the lower brackets a couple of years ago, I can say that for the most part, twinks are there for easy kills & easy honor. Yes, I'm sure there are those who go to fight other twinks, but those are as rare as a rare spawn.

The best thing they could do is if twink players truly want the challenge they say they want, maybe there should be a flag where a twink could check so that they would be matched up only with other twink groups in the BG's. I wonder how many would actually set that for a 'challenge'?

Level requirements changed on some enchants, items {WoW}

Mar 16th 2009 1:46AM Personally, you sound like the type that would bring a gun to a fistfight, then rationalize it by saying "Hey, I didn't want to get hit."

I don't bother with PvP at the lower brackets mainly due to tweaks (you aren't twinks) going straight after the easy kills every time. They like to rationalize it by saying "No, I have skill and go after the other tweaks", but they know they go after the easy kill every time.

Yeah, I have a handful of 80's, but I really could care less about dealing with some child who needs to puff themselves up playing in the 19-49 brackets. It's not skill, it's gear, and you know it. It's the same in PvP as well as PvE.

Maybe if you would drop your "I'm better than you" attitude and profanity, people might take you a bit more seriously when you comment.

Is Blizzard cutting costs? {WoW}

Jan 27th 2009 1:41PM Well, we could go the way of Bloodchills and ask that Blizzard make the game for a special subset of players (the ones who usually end up being called hardcore). Of course, that means that WoW would probably end up much like EQ. When I played EQ, it had a relatively steep learning curve, very few classes that could solo regular content (mostly the pet classes), and once you hit level cap, you absolutely needed a guild to do any content if you wanted to go further. Not to mention, as the high end guilds powered through end game content, the devs at Sony had to scramble to come up with something new and challenging as quickly as possible (just take a look at the numnber of exp. packs it has).

Seriously, I used to do that for years, and found that it's more fun to actually be able to play the game and do something, than to have to race to level cap and bang one's head against night unbeatable bosses (again, using the mindset I've seen for many of the so-called hardcore players).

I'm personally happy with the direction that Blizzard has taken this game over the past 4 years. I think the issue is, content isn't coming fast enough for some players. As far as that goes, they can either keep playing and wait like the rest of us, or migrate to something else.

No PvE servers are under populated {WoW}

Jan 9th 2009 2:13PM Actually, some of us have had it with PvP servers and wanted the relaxing play that PvE servers give. I started the game (when it first went live) on the Mal'Ganis server, playing Horde. It was fun, so long as you had a guild, or knew people.

After about a year & a half, it started to get insane. Not to mention our guild started to fracture and there was no one to really help (unless you were lucky and other faction members felt like helping out).

So I would say that PvP servers are fun to play on if you have friends you play with or a guild to help you out. But after going back and trying to play some of my characters there now? The nuts have truly taken over the asylum.

I still enjoy the choice of PvP'ing (Lake Wintergrasp anyone?), but wouldn't really enjoy the constant threat of being slaughtered while trying to level an alt on a PvP server these days.
