Breakfast Topic: How has reading WoW Insider changed your game experience? {WoW}

Mar 1st 2011 8:14AM I remember first reading the bear gearing guide for level 70 nearly 2 years ago, back when druids all wore a Stylin' Purple Hat. That's quite a fun read still: http://wow.joystiq.com/2008/04/15/shifting-perspectives-gearing-your-bear-tank-from-70-to-karazha/

Since then I always catch up on the class changes here. Especially for classes I don't play much, the summaries are really useful.

Patch 4.0.1 class balance issues and you {WoW}

Oct 13th 2010 6:12PM Druid tanks are fine - I tanked a few heroics with a group of geared casters. Aoe tanking is harder than it used to be, but easier than in BC. The dps were putting out over 10k dps without any of their addons, and not holding back at all. That should have sorted out threat issues, but all seems good with bears.

Jun 8th 2010 8:01PM My guild has been raiding in Wrath in purely 10 man raids. We run 3 hours on Friday and 2 hours on Sunday, and now we're working on the lich king and can clear the rest of ICC in about 2.5 hours.
Several times we have hit the issue you are seeing - a new progression boss prevents any progress and there are people who don't know the fight very well (because of rotating membership or other things).
The way I dealt with it was to have a "training night" on the problematic boss. Save the ID and learn the boss - spend all night wiping if necessary, even to the point where you do nothing else that week. Doing this once or twice will mean that everyone gets an understanding of what is needed, and then when you do down the boss it will be fast the next time.
I found that doing this for a week or two is all that is really needed.

Ghostcrawler: "We still are not convinced that Warrior tanks are operating at some huge deficit" {WoW}

Feb 17th 2009 7:20PM I play a druid tank, and have no issues with aoe tanking at all. I usually have at least 2 dps dropping big aoe's (hurricane and divine storm) as soon as I engage a group of mobs in a heroic and it all goes fine. They are so used to it that I need to be fast on the first swipe to beat them to the aoe.
It does require glyphed maul and a small amount of target changing to hold aggro while swiping, but that just stops druid tanking being boring.

Forum post of the day: Serious business decisions {WoW}

Jan 13th 2009 5:29PM How about getting new enchants or glyphs from achievements? Things like the mad leatherworking bracer enchants or the tailoring leg enchants that only drop from a boss when the achievement is gained. Or a glyph that has a larger impact than the current major glyphs.

Breakfast Topic: Unexpected Changes in Patch 3.0.2 {WoW}

Oct 15th 2008 9:35PM The same thing happened for me with my frozen shadowweave set. Total spellpower only went down by about 40 though, and the dps increase from talents appears to have totally made up for it.
