Jan 30th 2009 8:53AM Lately, it's all been one-handed maces. As a holy paladin, that's about all I can roll with. For a while I used a one-handed sword, but I am all about spell power, so the Titansteel Guardian is it for me.
Jan 27th 2009 8:28AM I make a ton of money skinning everyone's kills in the Stormpeaks -- near where the Sons of Hodir quests take place. I can hang out there for 15 minutes and have a backpack full of leathers. Guess there are a shortage of skinners on my server or something. I don't even have to kill anything (usually).
Jan 21st 2009 11:11AM I was really disappointed with this patch. I also feel ripped off because I dropped a good chunk of change for my epic mace and had it lose a good amount of it's spell power. Even that withstanding, I lose about 50 spell points on my holy paladin.
From a playability standpoint, last night was awful. Getting booted every few minutes and the lag were awful. Seems like the testing department sort of dropped the ball on this one.
Dec 5th 2008 7:55AM I dinged 450 skinning before I had even left Howling Fjord because I was so busy skinning leftovers. It made me a ton of money, especially with the initial inflated prices on skins. Thanks everyone!
Dec 4th 2008 7:36AM 100% agreed there as well. I noticed that right away... I was always curious to see how much I had healed or the most damage I had done and they were all insanely high. It's sort of neat, but at the same time meaningless. I bet there is a warrior or rogue out there with a higher healing score than me.
Dec 4th 2008 7:31AM I am pretty happy they removed it. I have a fair amount stashed away between an alt and my main. As soon as I noticed on the new armory I was a little worried. I figured it would make me a target to hackers & spammers.
I suppose it would've been nice to have it as an option, but I am not going to QQ over it.
Dec 3rd 2008 9:04AM Prior to WOTLK we were always hurting for tanks. Now, i see more requests for "LF Healer for XXXX then good to go". I've worked with a death knight tank or two and so far they've done a pretty good job. I think we were overpowered for most of the dungeons we ran, but as the healer, i was able to throw out some DPS instead of focusing 100% on heals. It'll be interesting to see how DKs hold up in the upper-end of instances. It's nice though, as a healer, to be in demand for instances.
Dec 2nd 2008 12:14PM I do quests in the zone so long as I remain challenged and interested in them. I really don't care that much for achievements... I pretty much did all the quests in BT and quickly moved on to dragonblight. I really got sick of the Hearthglen quests and some of the other quests and was dying to move on. Plus I felt I could get better XP by moving to more diffiicult zones more early in the game.
I starting doing Grizzly Hills (did almost every quest there) and did 90% of the Zul Durak Quests. I hit S Basin at about level 77. Since I am a skinner / herber, I milked that zone for all its worth. I hit 80 in Icecrown. Not sure how long I'll be in that area as the zone is sort of bleak and the quests are sort of a pain.
I really felt like I was ready to move up in the zones faster than they would give me quests. So in that respect I was disappointed.
I do applaud Blizzard for some of the clever quests -- especially the ones in Zul'Durak.
A lot of the ride the mount or control a beast quest were cool for a while but got old and some were just a pain in the butt.
Nov 25th 2008 8:46AM I leveled a holy paladin too from 1 - 70 and yeah it was slow going, I rarely ever died. I am continuing with the holy tradition even now (people seem to be asking for healers now more and more often for instances). With the holy shock cool down reduced to 6 seconds, I feel I can hold my own for soloing.
I've got all the holy talents that I feel I need / want, so I am putting some points into retribution, which is nice and helps out with DPS. Can't wait to try out my build in PvP / Arena.
Nov 25th 2008 7:49AM My rule of thumb is not to be a jerk. If I see you battling a monster over a quest item, I assume you want it and it's yours. I assume you'll give me the same courtesy. I've had some alliance steal quest items from me (especially with the daily where you have to get the stolen mana tubes in the Outlands).
To each their own I guess. It's dog eat dog world for mines and herbs and skins. But to solve the problem Blizzard should make less quests that involve picking up items on the ground to those that drop off of mobs.
