Jan 22nd 2009 9:52AM Disregard, the Veteran Nanny achievement isn't required for the For The Children achievement. We just need one of the pets for the drake rewarding achievement chain.
Still, no death knight can get the drake until October 2010 because of the Brewfest brew of the month requirement. Maybe Blizzard will consider putting all 12 drinks on the vendor so long as you have a brew of the month membership.
Jan 22nd 2009 9:46AM It'll still take three years for any death knight to get the drake :(
Nov 10th 2008 4:21PM The gear death knights start with honestly can get them through Outland leveling. The speed levelers aren't going to stop to shop the AH for greens. Once in Northrend the death knights are no more a target market than warriors and paladins are in the same level ranges.
Nov 9th 2008 11:35PM There's a lot to be said for keeping On A Pale Horse talent, even if you aren't focused on Unholy. Leveling means a lot of running around, so 20% extra mount speed is nothing to sneeze at. Quest mobs aren't that hard to kill and even in a 5-man run I think min/max DPS can wait, so that's why I'm keeping that talent up even if I go Blood or Frost. At level 80 that argument changes, and it is gone altogether in end game raiding and PvP.
Nov 4th 2008 8:45AM Beta servers are still up as of 5:45AM. Perhaps the blue post was premature?
Oct 27th 2008 4:44PM Unholy still has a lot of cool things going for it. Permeant ghoul pets alone will drive people to the tree. Frost has a similar 51-point problem, a weak CC or overkill disease application mechanism, depending on your point of view. But just like Unholy the Frost tree has a lot going for it above the 51-point talent and is still a great tree. Blood by far has the best 51-point talent, so that should be where you go it you only care about the final talent.
Oct 24th 2008 5:01PM Wowhead is getting into the zombie plague spirit. If you go to their site and look up anything you'll see a little friend at the top of their pages' frame. Be sure to hover your cursor over it, too.
Oct 21st 2008 4:01PM I really like how CE rep can hit revered before instances. I think we'll see more of that in Northrend. One thing I do warn people about who are working on the rep grind with an alt is to first collect their plant parts and immediately turn them in. There are 10 quests in Hellfire which give CE rep, and for each of those quests you complete first the fewer plant turn ins you can do. For death knights I say turn in your plants the instant you ding 60 and try to avoid questing near the CE encampment until then. A +Hit head enchant is worth the effort.
Even if you don't care about factions or achievements on your DK you should still gather materials for the first rep turn in for many of Outland's factions. A lot of the items can be gathered now by your level 70 and turned in by your DK for an easy XP boost.
