World of Warcraft Game Fuel commercial hits the airwaves {WoW}

Jun 15th 2009 10:28PM I don't understand why you are all SOOOO eager to be advertised to.

Why are people so willing to throw their money at products which are clearly bad for their health, and then form a cult around it like drinking soft-drink makes you part of something that is somehow meaningful?

Its just colored sugar. Its expensive, wasteful, polluting... If you don't get obese from sitting in front of your PC drinking bottle after bottle then you get diabetes instead.

And yet you all stare at the add which is designed to remove your money from your wallet and place it in the pocket of some rich fat cat at the top of a corporation as if it were the next holywood blockbuster, an artistic achievement?. You deliberately watched an ad multilple times on purpose? What the frack is wrong with you people?

The Martin Fury scandal: Karatechop reveals all {WoW}

Apr 30th 2009 9:15PM What I don't understand is:

Why isn't there code on these Developer/GM items that prevents them from being sent to players?

On my soulbound items, there is some code that tells the mail system: "this item can't be sent through the mail."

So why doesn't Blizzard have a precaution in place so that this can't happen? I can think of at least a couple of good reasons why this should be standard for all items that are accessible to GMs but not to players:

1. A GM could make a mistake (although this actually seems fairly implausible to me: you are an employee who gets taught company policy when you are trained to do your job, how could you not notice that you are sending an "i win" button to a player? Are you that bad at your job?).

2. A Blizzard employee is disgruntled and wants to screw with blizzard and it's game by sending such items to one or more players.

There is presumably plenty of room in the in-game mail system to check to see whether or not an item of mail contains a Developer/GM item and block/return the mail accordingly.

Apr 10th 2009 12:03PM Quick Medros is whining again... someone call TB.

Seriously, I've been listening to Medros' podcast for as couple of episodes now, and I can say that you should listen to him when he criticizes someone for talking out their asses. He knows, because he does so frequently.

Blizzard theme park? Make it so. {WoW}

Feb 25th 2009 11:01PM I know you don't go around beating women or anything like that :p

There is just something about the WoW playerbase that makes me really not want to encourage it where race/gender/sexual stereotypes are concerned.

Blizzard theme park? Make it so. {WoW}

Feb 25th 2009 10:38PM Of course it was, so why not just write:

"If the thought of a Blizzard theme park makes you let loose 'a high pitched happy squeal' with delight..."

Its not "girlish," as though you boys would never make such a noise, or as though there are no young women who would shudder at the thought of making such an irritating noise.
