Patch 3.3: Just run as many heroics as you want {WoW}

Oct 30th 2009 1:07AM There is a major flaw in this system. People like myself are going to say, want an item really bad from ToC Heroic. So after I run it on my own server, why not just continually join up and disband when I don't see ToC or another dungeon I can get something from?

Bash me all you want, but just as sure as afkers were eventually a problem in BG's, this will be an issue with actually getting five randoms who WANT to do the dungeon that was chosen.

Update on the Ghostcrawler situation {WoW}

Sep 28th 2009 8:06PM The active banhammering style simply wont work with a community that large (As they mention). Even with the wide berth players are given now to voice their opinion, some STILL think no one is listening to them or "hiding" their discussions, and seek alternative means.

Were they to simply mass ban the vocal "minority" you'd hear and see a lot more in game protests. I'm thinking the priest protests (mass level 1 priest creation holding trade channel hostage) and Illidans realm issues which over flowed into real problems for other realms.

It's one thing for Blizzard to ban a handful of truly disgusting individuals from their forums who can still play the game, and another to have to consider what to do with 200 players they tracked who staged a disruptive protest in-game because of mass bans on a problem they feel was legit (ban on forums).

In the real world, that's a decent bit of dough lost just to adhere to another small minority who want iron-fisted, no negotiation, zero tolerance when it comes to nerd rage :).

Ghostcrawler to take a break from the forums {WoW}

Sep 26th 2009 6:52PM This is really just the Cycle of blue posters. In the beginning it was Eyonix, then it switched to, Ghostcrawler is the latest to serve his time (and what a time to serve it in). I don't really blame Blizzard for switching it up every year or so; that's one heck of a taxing job dealing with folks like myself all day long.

I just hope whoever takes his place as the face of the forums is as witty as GC.

Arcane Brilliance: Making your Mage raid-worthy, part 2 {WoW}

Sep 13th 2009 4:24PM Good article and great call out on the WG leggings. I can tell you even in the TBC my priest often put on a STM stacked S3 helm to make certain fights easy on my priest (Not to mention it mattered little with how crazy Spirit was, then). Starting raiders can only use a little extra STM, their other gear considered.

I'm a little surprised Alchemy wasn't in the profession list, as I genuinely find it wonderful for any class, particularly casters. Perhaps I missed it in the first article.

2v2 team hits 3206 team rating, 3585 personal rating {WoW}

Sep 13th 2009 4:05PM The article was fine, informative, and bothers many of you because it actually left it up to you - the reader, to either A.) Look more in depth or B.) Use your own judgment and thought process to derive an opinion on the matter.

It's highly saddening to know a good article is rattled with comments of "WHAT!? English!?" and others trying to bring down the author for being new and not making the "language" appropriate for the audience at hand.

This site involves itself with MANY different types of articles. If this one wasn't your cup of tea, that's fine, but don't expect it to change to fit in line with the RP articles and "casual" style. It's Arena. It's numbers, abbreviations, speculations, and "OP".

Read with caution.

The Care and Feeding of Warriors: Some Thoughts About Tanking part 2 {WoW}

Sep 12th 2009 1:30PM Back in Ulduar (Naxx too, but who counts that?) we rolled MT Druid for pretty much all encounters since that was the Glead. You're absolutely right about the perceptions and the past. I still can't believe we did pre-nerf 3D with that druid tank; so many bloody wipes.

Now that I'm a casual player on my own tank, I can see the semi-blended style coming all together. Sure, I too would love another form of AoE threat, but Challenging Shout has a short enough CD now to be effective.

Having played 2 different main class healers and 2 different main class DPS in raids, I actually kind of like the insane button mashing prot warrior takes. It gives me more of a sense of accomplishment in ten mans than even 25 man Hardmode Ulduar did half the time.

Except heroic strike.
