Mar 12th 2012 11:50PM I think the idea of reforging was a good one, but the way it's worked out leaves much to be desired. The system doesn't lend itself to easy mental calculations even for people who know what they're doing let alone fresh players. Most people I know use some site or addon (i.e. 3rd party resources) to figure out how to reforge. I feel like that represents a failure of game design - people shouldn't feel compelled to rely on outside sources to understand the game. Blizz added the dungeon journal because they feel the same way.
I'd like some sort of reforging preview-like feature that let me mess around with my stats in-game before spending money on it. It could be like filling out a talent tree: pick all the stats you want to reforge and once you've got everything all set, you hit a "reforge" button and everything gets done at once. This is basically what addons and websites provide already, but having it built into the game (even in a simplified version) would be a big step forward.
Mar 11th 2012 9:01AM I only remember the deadliest mob lists, not a most killed mob list. I agree, though, would be totally awesome to see some of those lists make a comeback.
Mar 11th 2012 8:53AM Does it count if you fight the same person multiple times? i.e. Kael in TK and MgT. I don't think even doubing up Kael would be #1, but it'd still be interesting to see.
Mar 8th 2012 8:54AM Raven Lord. It's been months since the last time I did a run to try and get it, but at last count I was a little over 500 Anzu kills. Worked on it from BC when I was one of less than 10 druids on the server that could summon Anzu all the way through till around when firelands dropped. I finally just decided that it was unattainable for me, but that was ok. I had built up the awesomeness of having this mount in my mind for so long that I suspect I'd be disappointed if I actually got it.
Mar 1st 2012 5:40PM On Macs only 1 instance of WoW can be active, but windows users can start new instances of WoW by opening the .exe directly without going through the launcher.
Feb 28th 2012 4:58PM I think the biggest issue with symbiosis will be figuring out an easy way to tell people what sort of abilities are available. For those of us who read WoWInsider, it's no big thing to read a list on WoWHead or maybe a blue post or two, but a large fraction of WoW players are pretty casual. Or what about people coming to the game with the release of Mists? I worry that Symbiosis will just have so many different permutations that many people can't be bothered to really learn it and thus it'll get scrapped some time during the beta.
Feb 27th 2012 2:07PM If your raid group is pushing progression hard enough that they need you in another spec for some of the encounters, getting them to let you gear up that off-spec is incredibly easy. It's much harder to convince people to let you gear up an alt.
Feb 26th 2012 6:00PM It gives you a title. Might not be the rarest of rewards, but it's easily the most visible. If you choose to display your Loremaster title it's right there floating over your head no matter what you're doing (unless you're doing heroic Maloriak, figures I'd think of an exception immediately)
Feb 26th 2012 5:40PM Aliens is a great sci-fi action flick, but it hardly compares to the original. Alien is an amazing atmospheric horror movie like Jaws or The Thing (John Carpenter's version anyway) whereas Aliens is a generic (though still excellent) sci-fi action movie more at home in the company of Predator and Starship Troopers. These are all good movies, but I think when we look back at great films of our time Alien will be the one with the real staying power.
Also, since I can't resist, the movie Ridley Scott made after Alien was Blade Runner (1982). At the time James Cameron (who directed Aliens) had just finished directing Piranha Part 2: The Spawning (1981). To be fair, Cameron hadn't gotten his big break yet with Terminator or Aliens, but the man has a fetish for sequels.
Feb 23rd 2012 8:15PM I'm fine with the progressive buff, but even as someone who's unlikely to see heroic deathwing even with the buff at 30% I'd like blizz to add an achieve for downing him without the buff. One of those "I Can't Hear You Over The Sound of How Awesome I Am" or "He Feeds On Your Tears" type of achievements that even a lot of hardcore guilds don't seriously shoot for.
