Mar 30th 2010 11:52AM Back in vanilla WoW, I had about fifty all-nighters in Strat. The same group of us would get together to run, and we got so good at it we could do it within the timer for the gauntlet with ten or fifteen minutes to spare.
Of course, we were running it for the Beaststalker Pants drop... and all of those runs, THEY NEVER DROPPED. NOT ONCE. Oooooh, but the pally pants dropped like a cheap hoe!!!!
But I'm not bitter...
Feb 9th 2010 10:40AM Female dwarf hunter. And when the expansion comes out, I'll be making that a female human hunter. Oh yes I will. The dwarf jokes are killing me.
Feb 2nd 2009 2:36PM If I'm doing a bit too much damage and pull aggro off of my pet when solo'ing, rather than feign I just jump (not walk) backwards until the mob is dead. Even if it reaches me and I'm trying to Raptor Strike it to death.
My raid/guild leader constantly spams Vigilance on me when we're waiting to kill a boss. Usually until I /slap him.
When we're handing out loot in raids, I am jumping/running/hopping around until something interesting starts happening again.
And, like every other, on my warrior I nearly always jump before I charge.
Jan 20th 2009 4:03PM As my main is a hunter, I am mostly looking forward to the future patch where DKs are nerfed like they should be.
Also, my other alt is a warrior, so ... well, yeah, looking forward to the future patch where DKs are nerfed like they should be.
My name is Thrally. And I hate death knights.
Jan 12th 2009 11:24AM First thing I did when I loaded WotLK on my 'puter was roll a DK named Blasfemii (rar to the name, I think.) I powered her through the DK starting area and loved the quests... but even back then I really thought the class was OP and thus started my dislike.
She's still sitting in Eastern Plaguelands at level 58.
Meanwhile, I've leveled my main, a hunter, to 80 and started running Naxx with her on the weekends. My warrior alt is pushing fairly fast toward 80 at level 77 1/2, and when the warrior is done I'm going to start on my level 30 druid.
Then, after that, maaaaaaaaaaaaaaaybe my DK will get some play.
Jan 11th 2009 9:22PM I am known on my hunter for three very specific instances of huntardness.
The first was in vanilla WoW. We were in UBRS, on Drak, trying to clear the trash before him for the pull. I tab target, send pet, and prepare to aim shot the next mob... when my screen tells me the target isn't in line of sight.
So I look up, see that I've targeted a dragonkin-ish looking thing, and try to shoot again. No go. Next I notice... my cat is no where to be seen.
I look at my target again, and see that I've targeted Drak. I try to pull my pet back, hoping he hasn't aggro'd ... and here comes my cat, Drak in tow. The curses heard over vent probably haven't been invented yet, and everyone was confused. Of course, I owned up to it, but I STILL get crap about it years later from guildies.
The second time was in Gruul's. I was told to md onto one of the off tanks, so there I was, waiting, my tank targeted. Over vent I hear, "Hunters, md now!" I hit my md, and run to tag the mob... who's aggro range was far greater than I'd expected. The mage was probably still in the middle of casting, a surprised look on his face, when the entire raid wiped.
The third time was more recently. At level 72, I was in a five-man group that was on a roll. Of course, most of us were quite toasty by then, but we were crashing through instances way higher than us.
So the group leader decides to do DT in Grizzly Hills. Of course, I have no idea how to get there. Plus, I'm tipsy. On the way I fall off a mountain, can't find my way back to my body, have to rez at the spirit healer.
So then we're finally drunkenly but aptly running DT. We're about four pulls away from the last boss. Again, I'm asked to md onto the tank. So I md, run to the top of the stairs.... and notice my bow is grayed out on my action bar.
Yep, broken bow. Heh.
I was pissed, but everyone else found it hilarious. For the rest of the instance, I was melee'ing the crap out of undead trolls and the bone dragon thing.
To this day, I'm asked if my bow is repaired before we run. I lub mah guildies. :)
Dec 31st 2008 9:07PM I never raided much until the last few months of BC. For almost a full year, I ran with Vlanos' Longbow (is that what it's called? I can't remember now...). I hated staring at that thing in my swimming sea of epics.
Then, THREE DAYS before WotLK came out, we were in a Kara run and the gaudy/ugly - but oh so wondermous - Sunfury bow dropped off of Prince.
I think I cried on that day. I may have even had an 'accident'.
Dec 29th 2008 11:49AM Originally, the guild that forms up the one that I'm in now was known as Outlandish Knights. They started as a group of friends and had been there pretty much since the start of the server. I joined when one of my roommates at the time did, and most of our household was part of that guild.
There was a falling out with the GM, and most of the folks in OK left to start a new guild, Broken Symmetry. I've been running amok with these folks for almost three years, and although I've left once or twice for personal reasons (and extremely short periods of time), I keep coming back because the people in BS (yes, that was intentional) are awesome.
As of today, BS is a fairly large social/raiding guild with great people who are fairly dedicated to raiding new WotLK content in a somewhat serious manner.
We always welcome new members, though. There's pretty much a place for everyone in the guild, no matter how they play WoW. http://brokensymmetry.guildweb.info/
Dec 28th 2008 5:23PM So don't heal "cat". It's the hunter's responsibility to keep him/herself from getting hit, and he/she is also supposed to watch their pet.
If "cat" is getting hit hard, I just pull her back, throw some mend pets, and send her back in. Or, there's always that phoenix thing. But for the most part, the BM hunter's pet needs to BE ALIVE for the hunter to keep up good dps from buffs and procs.
So if you've got a problem with it, make all your raiding hunters respec survival/marksman, or don't take hunters on your raids.
Apparently you don't need them anyway. *shrug*
