Apr 23rd 2010 12:01PM Some of these tactics are clearly either:

"Bug Exploitation

We have a top notch Quality Assurance team who tirelessly stamp out bugs and design inconsistencies within World of Warcraft. However, a handful of trained professionals can never isolate and resolve each and every bug in such a deep and complex game accessed simultaneously by thousands of players. You may come across the occasional bug during your adventures. Some bugs are minor and do not affect gameplay, but sometimes these bugs can be used to provide an unfair advantage to certain players or affect the service itself..."

or

"Abuse of Game Mechanics

The distinction between exploiting bugs and abusing game mechanics is a fine one. While bug exploitation involves the abuse of what is essentially a programming mistake, the abuse of game mechanics is the act of taking advantage of the limitations of the World of Warcraft game systems. Since the line between the sanctioned use and the abuse of game mechanics is sometimes unclear, we prefer to educate players before taking any action against the account being used. This category includes using/distributing game mechanics in a manner unintended by their design..."

Chances of blizz actually taking action against a player for using these? Slim to none.

Disappointment that one of my favorite wow bloggers is advocating exploits? High.

Totem Talk: Restoration in the Plagueworks {WoW}

Apr 23rd 2010 9:13AM 'I really can't see the reason that justifies such agressives posts from TTFK.'

I agree the tone was wrong but it still needed to be said.
"First of all, any high-end raider knows that wow.com is not a source of "in-depht-and-hardcore-oriented""

Very true but it still doesn't excuse such poor information in a "professional" article, and yes it is a professional article, Mr. Perez makes money writing it.

"I don't know if you read all columns, but in all of them, more or less, the aproach is preety much "casual". That's because the blog, in my opinion, is meant to be "fun" above all else, and theorycraft, in depht fight orientation is not a fun topic for everyone."

Then this topic shouldn't be adressed as a an instructional guide for shamans who are raiding the plagueworks. Regardless of what the rest of the site is about this article is clearly "sold" as Restoration Shaman guide. Being a restoration shaman currently raiding this tier of content I can confidently say that most of the "tips" here are not only sub-optimal but in fact detrimental.

"Finally, even if I am ENTIRELY wrong about EVERYTHING in my comment, it's not anyone's right to insult me if they disagrees. The same idea applies to the collumnist. The lame reason of "tired of having to deal with that much bad information every week" is not an excuse to be rude.

You are correct sir. I disagree with you and Mr. Perez but that does not give me license to insult either of you. It does give me the right to state my opinion as it does TTFK. Once again I think his wording was harsh but it does not detract from the validity of his comment.

"Actually, if someone thinks the information here is misleading, imprecise, innacurate or whatever, DON'T waste your precious free time and read things that pleases you more."

My problem, and the only reason I chose to post at all on this issue, is that I send my "nooblet" Shamans here and most of the other class leads in my guild send our newer members here as WoW.com usually gives accurate information in a much easier to digest form than EJ or Tankspot. WoW.com advertises itself as a resource for WoW players and when a column is not just consistently "off" but more often than not flat out wrong it ceases being a resource and becomes a liability. It can be tough being a new raider and having one less place to send my nugget resto shamans for good advice makes this space goat bleat in dismay.

To purchase is my only course!
My empty wallet
Stupid Job!
No couch coinage
Weep and Sob!
I love you and I hate you Blizz
For making mounts as cool as this
Then asking for my hard-earned cash
To ride around with style and flash.
I'll go rob banks
Or steal some cars
To ride a horse
