Blood Pact: Of spells and bad metaphors {WoW}

Jun 20th 2009 4:23AM demonic circle is very useful in pve.

Malygos - first phase - you can port out of the vortex and continue dpsing while everyone else is twirling around helplessly.

Heigan - you can teleport back to the podium after the dance instead of running up - a few seconds saved can still make a difference.

XT - port back to your spot after running out with the light/gravity bomb.

Ayuraya, - porting back to the spot she's tanked at after fear, so that feral defender doesn't pounce on you as much.

those are just a few occurrences that come to mind, I'm sure I can think of more. In short - its a very useful spell in pve, you just need to be creative with it :)

BigRedKitty: Armor penetration stinks {WoW}

Dec 27th 2008 4:03PM let me first say that I'm amature theorycrafter at best (if at all) and math is ot myu strongest point, so what I'm presenting here is anecdotal evidence at best. but it still makes me wonder.

I had an opportunity to test out to different pairs of pants - crafted and drop. one had about 60 armor penetration and one had about that much crit. both were enchanted with epic ap/crit leg kit. with crafted pant (giantmaim leggins) I gained about 6% armor penetration. with the drop (leggins of stone halls) I gained about 1.5% crit (which brough me up to 27%) our tank was a warrior though I've yet to see any of our tanks have an opportunity to stack all 5 sunders on anything other then tank and spank raid bosses - things die too quickly. I've noticed that my overall dps was higher with pen then it was with crit.

I would need to test it again probably on a boss like patchwerk (otherwse known as "stand back and unleash" boss), but how do you explain my experience so far?

The plague is gone, zombies dropping like flies {WoW}

Oct 27th 2008 4:50PM "understand that you have to tolerate other people and learn that not everyone feels the same as you about what 'fun' is."

what a great advice. you should take it. as well as those lovely people who think and say it most empathicaly in some very unpleasant terms, that not enjoying the event and stating that outloud automaticaly makes you a no fun whiner.

Zombie invasion phase 5 begins [Updated x5] {WoW}

Oct 26th 2008 4:31PM this event would be fun and a great way to usher in the expansion IF it completely didn't kill the other wolrd event that's going on right now. and if there was a choice to opt out of it, OTHER then suspending your play untill it blows over.

I for one love Hallow's end. I haven't been playing this game long enough to participate in a previous year, so i'd like to enjoy this one to the fullest. I'm currently unable to.

I liked the fact that I could socialize when I wanted to, avoid people I didn't want to socialize with and mold the way I play according to my preferences. I miss those times.

I'm not even going to mention other factors anymore because, you see, wanting to play the game my own way, something that attracted me to WoW in a first place (over every other MMO out there) is no longer possible and disliking this fact, by the definition of all the zombie fanboys and fangirls makes me a no-fun whiner.

I'm not quitting the game just yet. I'm going to wait and see. but if this event eats up the rest of the time between now and expansion and if this is the direction that Blizz is planning on taking, then you can all rejoice, as there will be one less "whiner".

no need to say "don't let the door hit you" - I'm perfectly aware of the great internet theory and had plenty of chances to see it in action recently. further proof is not nessesary

Skill Mastery: Zombie Explosion! {WoW}

Oct 26th 2008 10:33AM it amazes me how you all "fun" people cannot see anyone's point of view but your own.

1. Hallow's end is still going on. but its pretty impossible to trick or treat when innkeepers constantly get infected. its also pretty impossible to get your gnerds achievement seeing as killing zombies doesn't count towards it.

2. some of us are still trying to see some end game content before expantion come out. just becasue bosses have been nerve doesn't mean i shoudl be coming to a raid half assed and unprepared - so acces to AH would be nice, thank you very much. not to mention it would be nice if I could actualy have flightmaster available - I don't have an epic flying on my current raiding toon, so getting anywhere without a taxi take to freaking long

3. leveling alts. more over - double boxing those alts while taking advantage of Refer a friend bonus. its near impossible now at certain levels, because the quest hubs are overrun. which means while this "event" is going on - my RaF days are effectively trickling away with me being unable to use them. I cannot exactly stop and "enjoy" the zombies and get back to leveling afterwards, becasue by that time - my bonus will be gone. Chances of Blizzard extending my bonus are exactly 0.

that bonus is a major reason I even bought a second account. no, it was NOT a zhevra. i was an oportunity to get a few more classes to 60 quicker, so that I could try them out and see variety of game play. and level a few more professions - this is the way I have fun.

waiting for NPCs to respawn is NOT fun to me. logging in and being eaten before I can hit a single button is NOT fun to me (especialy when the place is overrun - the only way for me to get out of this state is to wait for death - no npc's arond to kill me, and then hope that they go away somewhere else, or simply log out and check back later - that is NOT fun. I want to level my toon, I don't want to waste time logging in on it)

your excuses that its MMO and you shoudl be playing with people are utter bull. becasue the whole point is - you CHOOSE when, where and how you play with those people, you can choose WHICH people you play with and sometimes, you can choose to solo. there wouldn't be so much solo stuff to do if Blizzard only wanted us to group all the time.

some of us do not like events being shoved down our throats. some of us actualy like to CHOOSE whether we participate or not. and outside of this event - the game is generaly very good about it. this is why so many people are pissed off - this choice has been taken away from them.

I'm very happy that you all are enjoying event, I really am. I might even have fun with being a zombie (or a righteous healer, depending on a toon I'd be playing at the time) if I actualy had a choice about it.

Zombie Fighting 101 {WoW}

Oct 24th 2008 11:03AM my personal problem with this crap? I'm all for world events - they can be tons of fun. but how about NOT having 2 world events at once? maybe?

right now, I'm trying to get a hallowed titled on a bunch of my toons and judging by the horific droprate of the headless horseman, my only chance of doing that is through trick or treating. which becomes near impossible if I want to do it anywhere other then shatt. which means I have a choice - park my toons in one of shatt's inns and forget about playing them for the duration of Hallow's end, which interfeers with my other goal - use the last 2 weeks of RaF I have left to speed level a few more of my alts.

If Blizzard extended my RaF past the event - I'd have no problem. If they didn't combine 2 events and made it difficult to impossible to participate in one of them (my event of choice) - I'd be fine.

As it is - this it complete and utter crap, that allows griefers to go wild under pretence of participating in a world event.

that's my opinion and I'm sticking to it, you're free to disagree
