Know Your Lore: World of Warcraft Cataclysm Gilneas {WoW}

Nov 5th 2009 10:17AM Hey Mike,
Its been a while since we saw a Know Your Lore segment so I was hopping this question might give you something to think about.

The Question: My wife is thinking about taking the plunge at buying a WoW Account, but she doesn't want to dive in without knowing about the world she is going to become a part of. By her own admission is in love with good stories and I think Blizzard has done a fantastic job with this, however, I have not found a good site that she can sit down at and read to her hearts content about the world of Azeroth. So where might you suggestion I send to to become the lore junkie she is destined to be?

Thanks,
Aessedai

The disaster of patch 3.0.8 {WoW}

Jan 21st 2009 5:15PM As some one that tests software for a living I'd be curious as to what QA process is... I would assume there is something over and above the PTR but who really knows for sure.

The little bugs are common to get through QA because everyone looks at the big picture stuff so much they get lost in the forest... but the big ones like Wintersgrasp... thats a pretty big muke up by Blizzard. QAing code once it migrates to a production server is pretty standard so that type of issue should have been apparent pretty quick, but I'm guess based on observations they throw it out on the production servers and let everyone into the pool....

I think their 'old' way of not releasing until it is ready is the best way to approach something of this scale... its pretty obvious they rushed things and that only leads to bad rep with the user base... something you want to avoid at all cost.
