Shifting Perspectives: A peek at the beta bear {WoW}

Aug 10th 2010 7:16PM I'm going to have to agree, I like the troll bear/cat forms, but I also understand how they're an acquired taste (my girlfriend, on the other hand, does NOT like them at all).

I will enjoy galumphing around as a day-glow BAER.

Drama Mamas: Tank entitlement {WoW}

Aug 6th 2010 5:09PM See, I can get behind Tank Entitlement to a point. Frequently, when we do a run, it's the tank (me, as I only tank on my toons so far, I haven't succumbed to rampant altaholicism like my girlfriend) who sets the pace and decides what bosses get done. So I'm typically the final arbiter of skipping bosses and pace. I can see how that power can go to someone's head, along with the instant queues.

But along with that comes......Tank noblisse oblige, if you will. Sure, you're the pace setter, the decider, and you get instant queues, but along with that comes a responsiblity to make the run as painless as possible for everyone involved. That means only taking on as many mobs as you and the healer can handle, doing or skipping extra bosses if everyone (not the majority, one person wanting to do a boss for one more badge or a chance at a drop is reason enough to do it, because once upon a time you were that person wanting just one more badge/a certain drop).

It's the equivalent exchange you have to deal with for being a tank, getting quick queues and being so awesome. You need to make other people's runs as awesome as you are.

Sadly, for alot of people, their amount of awesome is in the negatives, therefore, all these bad runs.

WoW TCG invites you on a Spectral Safari this weekend {WoW}

Jul 22nd 2010 2:16PM Still worth a shot, with better odds for your money than buying $20 of the very out-of-print boosters the Spectral Tiger came in.

And as the event's sealed, it's perfect for people who've never played the game before (like myself).

WoW TCG invites you on a Spectral Safari this weekend {WoW}

Jul 22nd 2010 1:43PM I've played other CCGs, but never the WoW one, but this is one of my only two chances to get a kitty (I play Horde, and the other involves ZG and the RNG gods, who hate me).

I for sure will be there, even if the one in my area's being held at a gamestore I don't particularly want to give money to.

Drama Mamas: Tips on getting wife back into WoW {WoW}

Jul 9th 2010 5:48PM See, all that, MUCH more reasonable. I wouldn't want my SO in a raid just because the main tank (me) is involved with them. If they can't pull their own weight on a progression fight, I wouldn't want them in there, especially if other more capable players are sitting for them.

Thankfully, my boomkin SO can do quite well for themself, so it's not been an issue. But I can understand where you're coming from.

Stuff like ToC or ICC farm content that almost no one needs stuff from is another story.
