Mar 13th 2009 2:20PM In fact, they didn't "modify Blizzard's code". Mangos (most widespread emulator) is open-source and written from scratch. There isn't anything "illegal" about running a Mangos private server, only connecting to such servers is against the game EULA.

Oct 29th 2008 8:25PM Exactly. Instead of creating some "classic servers", they could just add possibility to create nonexpansion characters capped at level 60 and unable to enter Outland. That way, people would be able to experience both new and old content, at appropriate level. If they would somehow redesign the loot so it wouldn't take months to equip everyone, it would be even better..
