Raid/PuG habits should be kept separate {WoW}

Jan 19th 2010 12:39AM I completely disagree with most of this. And for one main reason.

When you are choosing a spec, you can hover over the talents, and they tell you what they do. Its called reading and I'm fairly sure that most people who finished year 5 can get through what WoW is relaying to the user in this regard.

The same can be said about your abilities. Hover over them, they tell you what they do, what cast times/resource requirements they have, and whether or not they have a cool down.

Now I'm not saying that simply by reading these that players should be super uber epic (so on and so on I see in /2) at the game. But this would make them be able to play at a level where even if they have a ICC/TOGC player in the group, they can have a decent role in the encounters.

The best example I can think of to make my point is I ran the random yesterday, and was grouped with an Ele speced shaman, using Windfury and melee attacking. Now, if this person had read what they were clicking on in their talents, and then read what Windfury does, I'm sure they could have come to the conclusion that the 2 don't mix.

I dunno what it is. I pride myself on my performance, even in the 5 mans. I'm not saying everyone has to play the game the way I think but surely wouldn't playing to the best of your ability make the game more enjoyable and you are doing better?

Retribution DPS too low {WoW}

Mar 5th 2009 1:08AM "What many players should understand is that unlike pure DPS trees or even other hybrids, Paladins simply don't have any room to be flexible.

Retribution Paladins can pick up every damage-boosting talent already with points to spare"

Don't QQ like you think you're the only ones. Look at ele shaman. Suck it up.

The disaster of patch 3.0.8 {WoW}

Jan 21st 2009 5:13PM I wouldn't send it back. I personally think you are massively over reacting. There are always millions of bugs with every patch that come out. The fact is that this is no different shouldn't be a surprise. I understand that its not good enough but hey, maybe your right, maybe the testing of new content isn't where it should be. However having said that I think the patch needed to be released as it really has, from what I have seen, balanced classes which should have been done a long time ago. (There is no way in this world I play an ele Shaman :P)

The fact there are bugs, the fact there is crashes, the fact that Blizzard will restart the servers to do apparently nothing, is not something new to the World of Warcraft.

Totem Talk: 2008, a Shaman Odyssey {WoW}

Jan 2nd 2009 11:09PM Aree I hate to say but if you are being out dpsed by your guild's MT then chances are you might be doing something wrong. I do agree however, our damage needs to be buffed.

For me personally I don't care about the AoE, but if they want to give it to us I hope they make it decent. Buffing Magma Totem a bit isn't going to be enough to keep up with a mage or warlock and is going to be a pain in the arse to use.

The buffs to shaman on the current 3.0.8 PTR and desperately needed and I fail to see how Blizz could have overseen this being a future problem for us. I do however have 1 point to make in increasing Elemental shaman damage. I would like to see LB stay about the same damage and increase LvB significantly. This way it forces shaman to use it. I have heard of so many Shaman still lightning bolt spamming and honestly I think their dps should suck. I love LvB to absolute bits. I cant wait to see it after they fix the t7 bug and with another 20% of my spellpower in damage. I do see my suggested chances to LvB being a problem where we can really hurt in PvP but hey lets face it. We need to be able to kill things insanely quickly because every other class can kill us insanely quickly. Sounds fair to me.

Totem Talk: Utgarde Pinnacle, the Oculus, and heroic Utgarde Keep/The Nexus {WoW}

Dec 26th 2008 12:16AM What are we going to have next.... which moves to set to which keys using bongos or bartender?

Totem Talk: Utgarde Pinnacle, the Oculus, and heroic Utgarde Keep/The Nexus {WoW}

Dec 25th 2008 7:09PM Fine, I might as well ask it. I know its the last Totem Talk but why the hell are you talking about this? Surely there is something more interesting to talk about in regards to shaman. How about a look at the huge amount of changes in the next patch for eles, how the change in spec position with stop the "enhance caster" spec, or due to the changes to other class AoE healing resto shaman are back at the top of group healing... ?

Can I have a job?

Totem Talk: Elemental, my dear Watson {WoW}

Nov 3rd 2008 1:31AM Hi Matthew,

Thankyou for taking the time to write an article on Elemental Shaman. I have been playing mine for a while now and currently in Sunwell wearing 5/8 t6.

All I have to ask is could you make an article that say "I don't like elemental hence don't play it" a little more. I just don't think 8 times per paragraph was enough for some of the readers to understand the concept that you "don't like elemental hence don't play it".

For those who are elemental and hence do play it will agree with some of your points. However, I do have this to say. Elemental damage has gone up. You are simply doing more damage as an Elemental Shaman if you have fixed your hit raiting after the patch. The amount your damage has gone up though, is far less then most of the other DPS classes.

Why? You brought up the problem thinking it wasn't one. We don't scale. End of story. We don't have that talent that helps us build spell power leading into and progressing through raids. End of story. A simple talent where we increase spell power by 10% of our intel or something along those lines, means Elemental Shaman have a chance with the damage meter.

I would also like to see a change in regards to out T10 talent but I doubt I am going to see that as apparently our LB is "OP" according to Blizzard.

Elemental Shaman talent builds for Patch 3.0.2 {WoW}

Oct 29th 2008 8:45AM This would be... seriously... one of the worst pve post 3.0.2 specs I have ever seen. I can see why their are a mass of ele shamans at the moment doing no damage.
