Servers are now up, but Newfoundland is forever {WoW}

Apr 4th 2012 5:04AM What Marbles said is what I was getting at. I had no idea that migrant communities in the US didn't develop a local accent, my experience in Australia (we really only have 1 to 2 accents) second or third generation migrants just speak with an Australian accent.

Apr 3rd 2012 6:02PM I don't know that it's racist but it's kinda odd. Doesn't American have second and third generation migrant minorities that presumably speak in an American accent?

Why is Blizzard still OK with gender inequality in World of Warcraft? {WoW}

Apr 3rd 2012 5:46PM As far as gender equality goes I'm a lot more concerned with the lack of good female lore characters in Wow. This female Panda will take the female faction leader count up to 2(now that Tyrande has been downgraded to 1950s housewife) out of a possible 14 faction leaders.

Apr 3rd 2012 5:33PM That's worse..the males are even more 'chubby' and they don't need to be 'reassured'.

Of monks, mains, and the ability to change {WoW}

Apr 2nd 2012 4:21PM The thing that holds me back from rolling the new class is the fact that it'll put me way behind everyone else in progression. People will well on their way to gearing up while I'm still leveling my way through Northrend. I'm afraid the Monk will probably have to take the position of alt for me.

Know Your Lore: The curious dissonance of Alliance leveling {WoW}

Apr 2nd 2012 6:55AM I feel the Alliance are sadly hand-tied by their good guy image.

Know Your Lore: The curious dissonance of Alliance leveling {WoW}

Apr 2nd 2012 6:20AM I have always seen this as the problem with the Alliance story. The Horde story this expansion has been "Winning. But at what cost?" you just can't tell those kind of stories with the Alliance because Blizzard are too attached to the good guy image. And so they lose. The Horde has to sink lower on the morality scale before the Alliance are allowed to take any actions and start fighting back. If the Alliance slid a little down on the morality scale they could fight on equal terms instead of having to wait.

Know Your Lore: The curious dissonance of Alliance leveling {WoW}

Apr 2nd 2012 5:50AM I'm Horde and Alliance and tbh the proportion of whining Alli side compared to the actual problem has been extreme. It has been constant throughout the whole expansion everywhere you turn. I agree with many of the points but I've grown tired of hearing it again and again.

Know Your Lore: The curious dissonance of Alliance leveling {WoW}

Apr 2nd 2012 5:38AM I agree. It doesn't have to be rainbow happy time forever. The devastation the Night Elves have undergone is actually interesting. Seeing the results of Stormwinds neglect of it's outlying regions is satisfying. If they had just whitewashed it into "Wow the King is Back let's all hold hands lalalala" it would have been insultingly stupid. The Alliance has problems which include unrest on the home front. That is interesting and has story potential, that has somewhere to go.
White knights like the Draenei are boring, winning all the time is unsatisfying. Losing badly and then coming back for a win? That is satisfying.

Apr 2nd 2012 5:16AM Great, I guess the Alliance QQ will never end.
