Mar 6th 2009 9:31AM Mike sounds Italian - like part of the "Family" Italian. Like Sicilian-I-Just-Broke-Your-Kneecaps-With-This-Vintage-Baseball-Bat Sicilian.

Long story short? Mike wins and that other guy never existed. Capiche?

Nov 25th 2008 4:54PM Yes, Sigh - by calling us all douchebags for relying on such famously unreliable things like 'books' and 'deductive reasoning' to make decisions, you certainly don't seem like you hold a doctorate to me.

No one was insulting the man.

Also, by accusing us egomania and pride, you've sort of taken up the whole 'psychologist for a day' mantle as well.

Again, no one is trying to demean the man . However, the comments he has made on this forum and their conflicting tone with the interview suggest that something isn't quite what it seems.

Nov 25th 2008 4:40PM No, I think people are reacting vitriolically because he seems to take a perverse pride in his list of mental illnesses. Also, if he can spend 14 hours a day playing WoW while making all the tiny little decisions one must to play effectively, then he certainly should be capable of getting a paper route or something similarly low stress.

My father has a few of the conditions listed above, so I know how painful it is to watch someone struggle with them. I also know how amazing it is to call my father after he attends group or goes to a mental health convention. If this man can play WoW so ardently, then he can function, even if it's just a little, in real life.

Nov 25th 2008 4:25PM Except that he is hardly speaking in absolutes. He made an honest and educated observation about your friends condition.

It is natural that you both feel chagrined and defensive when presented with such unpleasant truths. I agree with his assessment.

Nov 25th 2008 9:20AM But you are taking a code of morality based in reality and applying it to a world of fantasy. I'm almost positive that 99.9 % of WoW players were taught not to kill other people because of the color of their skin. Nor were they taught to skin, eviscerate, and otherwise exterminate countless animals and sentient trees. So, while your argument might have some merit, the very fact that you play WoW and engage in acts that are reprehensible in real life blows your argument to smithereens.

Nov 24th 2008 5:19PM There is no way to properly 'tag' a node or another resource. It isn't the developers job to program solutions for all of your problems - especially one created by other people - that don't directly influence the health and well being of your character.

Be thankful they have implemented code to help control griefing and what not. I mean, how many of you here have never stole an ore or tagged a mob while grinding? It's human nature (or Tauren, whatever) to be opportunistic. Personally, as much as it annoys me when something gets tagged out from under me, I'm not so naive to believe that I wouldn't do the same thing to another in a heartbeat.

Sometimes the ninja, other times the ninjaed (sic). Let it go and try to steal the next one when they start fighting the mobs.
