Nov 28th 2009 8:11PM Yeah that was kind of my thought. Is he sorry? Also, if he's already fooling around online, it's not that big a step to start fooling around in RT as well. I do agree that a relationship can be saved after an incident such as this, but both parties have to want to. Refusing to break off contact with his internet mistress for so long doesn't sound like he cares enough to want to.
Sep 18th 2009 6:47PM Actually you can get this pattern from the cooking trainer in Dalaran as well.
Mar 19th 2009 2:25PM Really all it comes down to common sense and manners. Is it really that hard to figure out that right before a boss while a RL is explaining a fight is NOT the best time to break out with your 'this one time at band camp' story? And is it really that hard to understand that pushing your talk button in the middle of a fight in order to burp in everyone's ears and then laugh and say 'aren't you glad I'm on vent now' is not exactly the way to make friends and influence people?
Yes it's a game and we're here to have fun but do things like common courtesy really have to go out the window in order for fun to be achieved?
Mar 16th 2009 3:03PM Thank you for every word of this article. It's very easy for people to sit back and QQ when things are being run by someone else. Most people don't sit and think about those who pay for vent and websites, or who take time from their enjoyment of the game to fix problems for their guild members, or put off play time in order to sit and hash out a raid schedule.
My own guild, run rather successfully for the last year and a half just fell apart for these very reasons. My husband and I got tired of doing all the work and really not getting any benefits and receiving more criticism than praise.
The average person doesn't seem to realize or doesn't care that a lot of work goes into running a guild and all while you're still paying to play this game that running a guild doesn't leave you a lot of time to actually play and enjoy. It's a lot easier to view GMs and Officers as people doing you a service that should be thankful you're there to complain. Or not as people at all, but as pixels who should just shut up and do what you want.
Feb 27th 2009 2:31PM Had a few, but the one currently coming to mind would be filling in on a Hyjal run with what I believed to be a guild of nice people. I was running around trying to top off people while we waited for everyone who was stupid enough to release to run back in. Didn't not even realize I was near the small sphere that represented the bosses body and for some reason clicking healbot looted. Did not pick up anything except my badge, but it did mean that everyone there had to pass so the outside people could get a chance for gear. Hearing the yell across vent from the raid leader was bad enough. But the 20 'you a-hole' tells that quickly followed before I could even apologize and explain what happened was almost enough to make me leave the raid. Accidents happen. Making someone feel like a complete piece of crap because you have to press 'pass' and wait a few minutes was not worth running with those people ever again.
Next one that comes to mind, having a weird account wide instance lockout on my guild's first 'old school raid' night and not getting to go see Molten Core and get the achievement there. After spending time that day getting attuned for it and helping another guild member get attuned as well, not being able to go on any toon was frustrating to say the least.
