Sep 27th 2010 4:50PM I am not sure what Snackpatrol did to piss off so many mages but here is my 2 cents. I have an 80 mage, I have no problems porting polite people, I will put jerks on ignore. Most of the time if someone is very polite, offers to replace the reagent, and or offers a tip I will port them for free. Kind and polite go a very long way with me. If I need a port, I am extremely polite and offer the tip amount up front. If I am on a lowbie or new toon I do what I can. I usually send those toons 100-200g and intend at least 20 of that to cover a port to Dalaran. I have had some very bad experiences with asking polite and getting asshat responses but I do understand the annoyance some mages get with being pestered for portals so I just go to the next guy. I dont owe anyone a port or summom. I dont expect a free port or summon from anyone. And when I am need of a service I do sincerely appreciate people who help out. Thats about all you can do on this matter.
May 28th 2010 9:26AM On my server it is a fairly balanced horde/ally ratio. However there are alot of horde that like to camp lowbie areas. The favorite seems to be the roofs in Darkshire because the guards cannot reach you. I got so ticked off one morning that I got on my leve 70 (level cap at the time) that I went to the blood elf starting area and destroyed everything in sight for an hour. Guards, npcs, the few high levels that came to the rescue, and the few lowbies that did not know any better. I then went to Arathi Highlands on my rogue and made a rather disturbing discovery. I was on the roof there (it was the only one that I knew I could get on in a town) shooting lowbies with a crossbow, and to my amazement every time I killed someone, a level 65 elite showed up behind me. I did not have any trouble taking out the guard, but I put a ticket in questioning why guards did not spawn on the roof in Darkshire. This lead to an argument with a GM where he threatend to ban me for a few days if I did not calm down at him since I called him incompetent. This lead to more words of wisdom on my part and an eventual log off on my part. There have always been rumors that the game is balanced towards horde, this was just more evidence.
Later that day I decided to vent more frustration by going to the portal in Undercity on my rogue and killing flagged players, After a while that got boring so I went back to questing in darkshire, and guess what, more rooftop campers. I am glad all ten of my characters are 80 now so I dont have to deal with lowbie griefing areas until Cata.
Apr 22nd 2010 8:31AM So, I have three alchemist. Two transmute and one elixer master at the moment. I will tell you the best way to make money is the transmutes. I do three epic gem transmutes a day and make flask when I need them. I stockpile the gems that I need for my characters (8 80s as of right now) and sell the rest. It is a good money maker since I also have 2 jewel crafters so I dont find myselft trying to sell items, I just list them for what I want and go to the mailbox for my gold.
Also, in this day and age if you do any mastery quest other than transmute you should be shot. Both potions and elixer require heroic BC instances that you must grind rep for to even start. If you are leveling a fresh toon that does not have these reputations (Caverns of Time and Shat'ar) just do the transmute quest which is four primal mights. Farming the mats for those is somewhat time consuming, but you can take the chance of finding a transmute master for the mights since they are no longer on a cooldown and cross your fingers for procs. Then do the daily transmutes for the cardinal ruby recipe and change after that if you want to.
Jan 9th 2009 2:13PM OK so here is my theory on the whole queue issue. This all started a few months after the RAF deal started. If you have been to any of the low level areas you see it constantly. Warrior with piest following, keyclone gone wild (which btw is legal because it is not a bot) or two buddies starting up new toons for the guilds progression. PVP to PVE transfers addes some people, the xpac brought alot of folks back, but the RAF is what is causing your queues, just go to a low level area and see.
BTW I have two RAF accounts, lol
Nov 12th 2008 11:39AM I love that people are calling for a three day ban for grabbing gear that was a Blizz screw up. The only reason I even knew about it (I was sick Tuesday and did not even log on) was that I logged on at about 6 am EST to see if I had enough arena points to buy my s4 gear and the prices were all screwed up. I am sure that with the xpac a day away and Blizzard counting on it to drive revenue through the roof, they will not be that stupid as to ban a ton of accounts over their own mistakes.
Nov 5th 2008 4:17PM I tanked a heroic last night and did notice a slight difference in threat generation. It did not help much that I had two rogues taking turns critting the heck out of the wrong targets but we were able to push through. I am in Pre-kara gear mostly so heroics are a slight challenge when people ignore threat meters but I still think the judgement nerf did hurt a little.
