Jul 28th 2010 3:58PM Raging Spirits are the strong mobs the appear during the transition phases. There is nothing else to attack in these phases except the odd ghoul that didn't get killed by incidental AoE.
Jul 8th 2010 5:07PM We did it with 4 healers last night in 10 man. Maybe a bit of overkill, but the enrage timer is not really an issue if your dps is even half-way decent (6k). We had crappy raid make-up, but these were the best-geared toons who showed up.
Our set up was -
Physical - Prot Pally, Boomkin, Hunter, Disc Priest, Holy Pally
Twilight - Prot Warrior, Rogue*2, Restro Shammy, Holy Priest
If you are having trouble, go to 4-heals and see how easy it is. Slow and steady wins the race.
Jun 1st 2010 2:35PM Except if your a fire mage you have enough DoTs to make Phylactery proc (Living Bomb, Ignite ticks, and PyroBlast). That trinket is one of the reasons that Fire mages start to bypass Arcane mages in end game raiding.

I personally don't agree with this guild's idea of taxing its members 1000g/week to raid, but why turn the topic into a rant against the US tax system? The two topics are TOTALLY unrelated and one has no bearing or commonality with the other.

The spec you posted has one big problem.
In the restro tree you have:
2/5 Naturalist = 4% damage
3/3 Natural Shapshifter = nothing useful
2/2 Master Shapeshifter = 4% damage
You spent 7 points for 8% damge.
You should have:
5/5 Naturalist = 10% damage
2 extra points for something else (like infected wounds)
With this you get 2% more damage and 2 more talent points to spend on something else. You should never have maxed out Master Shapeshifter unless your Naturalist is also maxed out. They do the exact same thing, but Naturalist does it much cheaper.

Anything that ABSOLUTELY HAS to be interrupted generally happens more frequently than 30 seconds. So if your bash is on a 30 second or 60 second CD almost never makes any difference. This is especially true in a raid, where you are very likely to have a rogue or shammy or some other class that has an interrupt CD of 10 seconds or less. And there is nothing outside of any raid that if you don't interrupt it, you die. Now if the talent reduced the CD 10 or 15 seconds, then it would be a viable tool for actually consistently interrupting things and we would all take it. It isn't a horrible talent, but most players don't find it particularly useful in PvE.
Infected Wounds is a mandatory tank talent. In my opinion, if you don't have it as a bear, unless you are running a spec that is specifically designed with a specific raid comp for a few specific fights, then you are doing it wrong. 20% less damage from ALL incoming boss melee attacks is a huge, gigantic, monster sized chunk of less damage. There are many, many instances when you don't have a pocket tank of another class to provide the debuff for you (10-man raiding, single tank fights, multi-mob fights, the other tank gets killed, the other tank lets it fall off). In fact, every single fight in ToC doesn't have the tanks on the same target. ICC has the tanks sharing a targets more often than ToC, but still not on every fight. Not only that, but as a bear, you apply the debuff just doing your normal rotation, while a warrior has to use a global CD on an ability that is not an optimal part of his/her rotation.
The swing timer debuff is so important that I would never want to rely on somebody else providing the debuff that I should be providing as the tank. If you find Brutal Impact useful, then take it. However, I think taking the points out of Infected Wounds to get it would be a huge mistake.
Jan 14th 2010 6:08PM Pro-Tip. Look for a pat walking toward you, then make sure the AFK guy is the closest to him. Instant death and no more Auto Follow.
Dec 29th 2009 9:01AM The problem is that most tanks need to be hit and attacked to be effective (Bears and Warriors need rage and Pallies need mana, I'm not sure on DKs). By casting Army of the Dead, you are vastly reducing the effectiveness of one of your group members. Its a heroic, so the boss will probably die anyway, but it is annoying. Save Army for if the tank accidentally pulls too many mobs or if the healer D/Cs.
