Huh?

The Joystiq Show - 007: Digitally Augmented Edition {Joystiq}

The Joystiq Show - 005: Hyper Mega Capcom Edition {Joystiq}

Aug 16th 2011 2:46PM While I miss the old show, and always will, this episode had something going for it.

The interviews were short, but meaningful. Richard asked the right questions, and combined with great editing, I felt like the interviews built a solid foundation for the roundtable. A comment on the roundtable, and future roundtables. Keep the discussion light and fun, like this episode's discussion. While the show's tone is obviously more serious, the back and forth talking is more enjoyable with a touch of humor.

Finally, a question. Would it be possible to do a more news like show, similar to the Capcom episode, every seven to ten days, but with more news segments? Two short news story's from the previous week, maybe with a short interview or an editor's opinion, each done by a different Joystiq editor. Then have a featured storied topic (like Capcom and the state of the Japanese gaming industry) with more in-depth interviews and a round table featuring additional editors.

Pre-order Battlefield 3 on Origin and get a free game {Joystiq}

Aug 15th 2011 6:11PM Can I buy the game on Steam yet? I'm not hating on EA or Origin. However, I talk to my friends on Steam, and have years invested into Steam and Steam based communities.

Some might say it doesn't matter whether I'm using Origin or Steam to play Battlefield 3. Well, it matters to me (the customer) because I want to play Battlefield 3 on Steam, but EA is not allowing me that option. A publisher not allowing me to purchase or play a game how I want severely reducing my interest in purchasing the title.

Witcher 2 hotfix fixes Steam Achievements, 3D Vision bugs {Joystiq}

Weird. I tried a fresh download last week, it finished, and steam started downloading 9gb after the patcher completed. I'll give it another try.

Aug 11th 2011 8:04PM Have they fixed that 9gb file that must be redownloaded every time an update is available for the game via steam?

Battlefield 3 won't be sold on Steam; EA claims service 'restricts our ability to directly support players' {Joystiq}

Aug 6th 2011 10:38AM @BananaBoat

True, most of EA's profit on the game will likely be from consoles. However, I wonder if the PC market's profitability may rise with the coming of the next console generation in two or three years. If the next console generation operates via data or streaming, instead of physical media, (which is a big IF), then consoles may go through a rough patch. Meanwhile, something like Steam or Battle.net have already acquired a footing in an unstable market.

Battlefield 3 won't be sold on Steam; EA claims service 'restricts our ability to directly support players' {Joystiq}

Aug 6th 2011 8:11AM EA is in for a world of trouble based on this philosophy. EA not selling Battlefield 3 on Steam does not come across to gamers as a strategic move to better position EA in the growing download market. EA's move comes across to gamers as, "we know how you want to play your games better than you do!"

Yeah, good luck with that EA.

The Joystiq Show - 001: Duke Nukem Forever {Joystiq}

Jun 20th 2011 4:23PM I love Joystiq, but please get "the chubby one and the foreign guy," back. The chemistry made the show special, anyone can talk about video games for an hour.

Video: Joystiq vs. E3 2011 {Joystiq}

Jun 13th 2011 10:41PM I simply love this video. Most of the video coverage I saw of E3 from other sources felt more like a media event than actually being at E3. Watching this short video was like actually being amidst E3's immensity and panic.

Thanks Joystiq
