WoW Archivist: World of Warcraft beta patch 0.11 {WoW}

Apr 26th 2011 11:02AM OMG, I forgot about the /pass and /roll thing. I started playing the week before patch 2.1 and my server was still doing that well into Sunwell content. I love this column, keep up the good work.

Breakfast Topic: Do you play other games besides WoW? {WoW}

Mar 7th 2011 10:37AM Used to play DotA with the other officers in my old progression guild. It took the place of meetings so we got to play another game to unwind, while talking about guild business.

Been doing the same thing with my new, casual raiding, guild and League of Legends (it's free to play, check it out: ). I find that having another game to escape to can make the stress and/or frustration that can come with dealing with other people in game really helps.

Comparing the starting zone of Goblins to that of Gnomes is disengenious, at best. Gnomes are the Trolls of the Alliance -- as was seen in the Echo Isles/Gnomeregan events. Compare the Goblin starting area with the Worgen, is what you should have said. If one does compare the second two it is clear that Blizzard takes the storyline and art of the Alliance seriously and considers the Horde atmosphere to be a mere outtake on Azerothian culture.

If you want to talk racials, then let us consider Shadowmeld, Diplomacy or Heroic Presence. I would trade any racial, Horde-side, for the ability to go stealth, decrease my rep grind by 10% or reitemize based on a constant 1% +hit (which is, btw the most imba racial in the game).

P.S. Please note that I didn't even mention the wholesale travesty that is the Wintersaber mount.

Breakfast Topic: Is your race or faction choice based on sticking with friends? {WoW}

Dec 17th 2010 12:50PM Not even a little. It's quite the opposite for me, actually. I started playing because I was bored in grad school, during the week. I went on to meet two of my closest friends and my fiancee in raiding guilds -- over the course of the following few years. Recently I began a new job based on the recommendation of a former guildmate who I have never met IRL. None of this would have happened if I had rolled Alliance instead of horde.

TL;DR - My social and professional lives have been altered as a result of my faction choice, not the reverse.
