Mar 13th 2012 1:30PM The only way I would play a ME MMO (which trust me, i want one), would be that nobody from SWTOR touched it. And FFS, NO HERO ENGINE!
Feb 13th 2012 1:37PM I'm sorry, but the Elin are one of the many korean aspects of this game that just turn me off. I never played Aion, but i played FFXI for years before i knew better. This game is going to be grindy. When a kill quests gives you credit for 1-3 out of a group of 11, there is a problem. The mount system in the game is terrible. Yes, you can mount while moving, but you can't do ANYTHING on a mount other then accept and turn in quests and use vendors. If you try to drink, equip, attack, or anything of the sort, you have to manually dismount.
They claim to have spent this time westernizing this game, but i'm willing to bet all they dis was translate the game, do the mediocre to TERRIBLY campy VO, and change the names of the quests to me western pop culture references. There is a incredibly annoying and slightly creepy jiggle effect to most female models. Now, i'm no prude, but it's gross to me that i talk to a female quest giver, and even if all she is doing is breathing, her breasts sway with the breeze. Asian ideals of beauty are just creepy. And then i hear these Elin are the most popular race in korea because in pvp they have the smallest hit box? Sure.... that's exactly why the Elin are the most played by the koreans...
I tried liking this game, i really did. But i just can't see enjoying tanking in a game where the aim/combat system favors ranged and aoe over regular melee. It was annoying as hell to be a Lancer (tank) and learn that i will never get any sort of AOE, and that all of my abilities pretty much require the mobs to not be standing still in front of me or i miss.
Feb 12th 2012 3:32PM SWTOR.
I KEED! I KEED!
Earth and Beyond, all the way. How EA was allowed to handle another MMO after f-ing up E&B, i'll never know.
Feb 8th 2012 7:22PM You had me at future batman. Seriously, go watch the CG movies. Future batman is amazing. Depending on how it plays out, i'll give it another shot, but i'm happy with Rift again while i give SWTOR a while to shape up some more.
If you haven't tried it, DCUO is a pretty good MMO and def worth a try.
Feb 5th 2012 5:32PM I honestly think they're the first guild to act like a guild. They seek to have a large active roster that plans to stick around, they care about brand recognition, they have strict rules to keep people in line, and they care about their image.
I've been looking for a guild like this for a long time. So many guild are either too serious, too lax, or are a punch of douche bags. The last WoW guild i was in for example used several people including a sweet SWEET grandmother to farm mats for their raids under the context that one day they would raid.
Feb 3rd 2012 7:22PM For some reason, as i was in bed the other night, i had the strange thought "hey, let's youtube videos of rift to see what happened" I had quit about 1 and a half months after launch and hadn't thought about it since. I had started dating somebody seriously, and i had become obsessed over SWTOR. So now that i'm at cap and bored with SWTOR, i'm playing Rift again and loving it. It's really a fresh and different approach to an MMO and i rather like how good Trion is with their customers.
They gave me 14 days to try out the game again and i'm going to be subscribing i think.
Oct 11th 2011 8:43PM Huh... if they're concerned about quality control, guess they fired somebody after Cata came out.

Ah, that sounds great. I was thinking they were refering to GW2's WvW combat. Just making sure. That sounds like so much fun. I just wish i could have gotten into DAoC in its prime.
Oct 10th 2011 2:28PM Could somebody explain what 3-way pvp is? I've never heard that term before.
Oct 2nd 2011 1:45AM Have you guys ever considered that opinion isn't biased if their opinion is, they don't like something? I don't like beans, but that doesn't mean i have an agenda against beans.
I would like you guys to list "every" site that has a positive review for TOR. Listen, i'm gonna play TOR. I was INCREDIBLY excited about TOR until i saw GW2. Now i'm more excited about GW2, but i still want TOR.
The video game blog Kotaku has had nothing but negative and what i thought to be incredibly biased article about TOR. I had the same opinion about them as you guys seem to have about Massively.
But then i learned about betacake. It's a blog that posts info about MMOs; even NDA breaking stuff. Now, i would say about 70ish% of the Q&A and opinions from testers of the beta for TOR have an overwhelming negative opinion of the game for the very same aspect Massively calls out. This revelation has shaken my want for TOR, and i'm considering not dropping $250 for the collectors and just getting the regular edition.
I'm not saying you guys are babies and TOR is crap, and i'm not saying it's good. I can't give you my opinion on it until i do what all these writers have and played the game, but i'm not going to walk into a $250 dollar wall blindly if dozens of people are warning me not to.
If you look only at the good, that's all you'll see. Look at the whole and make the best opinion for you.
