Jun 12th 2009 10:58AM ::chuckle:: I had a similar dilemma back when I first started raiding, back in Karazhan. My dwarf Hunter had never touched a bow or X-bow, to the point where I'd not even learned, let alone trained the skill. Of course Attumen hands over his crossbow and I spend the next couple of days mock complaining as I train up the weapon skill to use it. Considering the bent BC had towards Bows and X-bows, I happy with Ulduar's balance towards Guns, while still offering a few bows.
Jun 11th 2009 1:37PM I think people just need to let the old content go. It had it's time, people enjoyed it, or at least weathered the pain.
A new player coming in fresh needs to understand the World they're joining has moved on. Take what you can of the 1-60/70 experience at whatever pace you enjoy. But don't expect to be able to do certain things, like low level dungeons that have little to no real purpose anymore to a large majority of the player base. If you must have the small morsels of story they hold, go back with 2-3 friends when you out level the place.
Considering the vast amount of work the development team has moving forward, not a second should be spent redeveloping the old dungeons.
Jun 8th 2009 8:38AM Link to source supporting this info? I'm curious where it came from.
Jun 4th 2009 11:54AM Bah! Poop quests suck. Heroes of the alliance do NOT dig in feces.
May 20th 2009 11:51AM Disagree all you want, that's why I say "almost" required. Individual situations/guilds/fights will vary, but if all things are equal (skill, gear, buffs, etc.) a Survival spec is going to put out higher DPS. The math doesn't lie.
May 20th 2009 9:28AM Yup, same boat here. Been primarily BM specced since not long after release, up until the massive Steady Shot nerf. If you want to stay competitive in the damage meters, Survival is almost a requirement.
Feb 10th 2009 9:04AM finished up with the Heroic Gundrak and UK elders last night. Don't much care about achievements or the elder title, but I would like to get that violet drake, so I went ahead and did these.
The best was getting Thunder Bluff's Elder. I rode up the wron elevator, then couldn't figure out which bridge I needed to take to get to the guy. Had a dozen or so guards chasing me around on my motorcycle. Finally found the path to the elder and got my coin, and a DK tried to Death Grip me and I just laughed and jumped off the bluff.
Dec 12th 2008 1:24PM Aerobie, you are sorely mistaken about how things work now.
Auto shot is not tied to the global cooldown, or delayed by our other shots anymore. Auto shots will benefit from as much haste as you give it, but that's only a portion of our damage.
The Steady shot cast time for a BM hunter WILL be at the GCD with just serpents swiftness and a quiver. No amount of haste will give any real benefit to Steady shot, because no matter how fast you cast it, you can't fire it again for 1.5s
so over all, haste is of marginal usefulness to a BM hunter.
Dec 10th 2008 11:05AM Think you missed the point on this one:
"10) Call of the Wild – now benefits only the hunter and his or her pet. "
Or at least didn't comment on what it's intended to fix. CotW evidently stacks with itself. 3-4 hunters in a group could stack the ability for massive DPS. The fix should have to make it non-stacking. Instead they made it self only.
