PSN 'Welcome Back' program extended to July 5; THIS IS IT, DO IT NOW! {Joystiq}

Jul 4th 2011 3:17PM All I can say is I'm thankful for this. Normally I have all the free time in the world, but this past month I've been extraordinarily busy with work, travel, and other obligations. When I got back home late last week, I immediately fell ill with what appears to be food poisoning.

The expiration date slipped my mind, so when I finally got around to checking my news feeds and saw that yesterday was the deadline, I got online (after updating... and resetting my account password) and found that it was gone. I was disappointed but though, "Well, I guess I missed out."

So I'm glad they extended it a little bit. It wouldn't have been the end of the world if I didn't get my free stuff since I rarely use my PS3 anyway. But at least they were nice about extending the deadline a little bit instead of being snotty about it. Still feeling really sick, but at least I got my stuff downloaded now...

Best Buy testing price matching of used games {Joystiq}

Aug 7th 2009 1:17PM Smart move on Best Buy's part. GameStop's used prices are so terrible that Best Buy isn't likely to lose more than $5 per game, but saving a few bucks is incentive enough to lure me and other customers in. Not having to worry about getting a scratched-up disc with no case or manual (or even a bootleg) from GameStop is a huge plus, too.
