May 6th 2011 8:13AM My eldest daughter got friendly with one of our guild members and they chatted in game for ages. Finaly he came up to stay one week and after a while, she moved down to where he lived in the south. Now they are married and expecting their first sprog :)
Apr 21st 2011 3:27PM Yeah. Welcome to the "global community". We enjoy your patronige, just don't expect to benefit from it :(
Mar 15th 2011 4:21PM This thread reminds me why I hate to watch things like X Factor...
Is it no longer possible to be constructively critical without cheap shots and spiteful remarks?
Lilydruid: I liked last post, just to let you know your point was made somewhere. Mature and honest, but you shouldn't feel you have to justify yourself as a person or a mother. This is SUPPOSED to be about your art. You don't have to pander to troll minded dissenters.
Mar 14th 2011 4:45PM For the love of God...
I find some of the remarks in this post incredulous. All day long on music channels and even in commercials you can view images far more provocative than Lilydruids video. My
10 cents worth? You go girl. Kudos to you for trying to do something different and entertaining!
Nov 11th 2010 10:15AM I don't pretend to understand the economic of market stratergy of running MMO's. If I like it, I play it. If it means paying for the service I'll pay if I like it enough to continue playing. Not being much of a instance or pvp player, the questing and lore side of the game is the most enjoyable for me. I stopped playing WoW just after the latest patch. Partly because I didn't like the changes, but also because after 5 years it just seemed like turning up for work.
When LotRO began it's free to play, it coencided nicely with my itch for something different.
I've been playing it for about a week now and I find it engrossing and enjoyable. Yes from time to time I come across a limitation, but to be honest at this stage it doesn't really impact too much on the game play and it has a lot of features that WoW lacked. I can see me subscribing in the future.
I guess my point is that if it hadn't been for the free to play promotion I probably wouldn't have bothered with it. 15 day subs aren't really a big enough insentive to do all the tedious downloading and patching it takes to find at the end of it you didn't rate it, and the limitations on the trials do have an impact on how the game REALLY plays. I think it will pay off in the long run because having put all the time and effort into playing with a slighty limited version there is an insentive to 'invest' in more. More importantly, you are given a choice on how you want to play.
Jul 29th 2010 4:24AM Totally agree with you Alex.
Bored with my Combat rogue I have rolled a Sub rogue and leveling him from scratch.
I have use the companion guide below as a rule of thumb and it feels almost like I'm playing a new game. Having lots of fun with it.
Sub spec is too often overlooked in the blinkered DPS numbers race. It's a shame because if people took the time to learn it they would find that it can be effective and fun.
Jan 2nd 2010 8:21AM When you're bored with grinding, Questing, Farming. Raiding... but you just can't think of anything else to do - because WoW has become your life :(
Jun 4th 2009 10:07AM fair comment - but some kind of variety would be nice
as apposed to brown boiler suits with a 'hint' of blue/red/green...
Jun 3rd 2009 1:18PM 1. Some way of getting off windrider mounts. It's such a PITA
when you remember/see something you need to do and have
to complete a pointless journey only to turn around and fly back again :(
2. Cosmetics. Northrend gear is so bland to the eye - especially after
gearing the huge variety you can get in outland. A shave and hair cut
just doesn't go far enough.
3. better world drops - like they were a couple of years ago.
It's virtually impossible to pick up any quality drops outside
of dungeon anymore - take note Blizzard; we aren't all Arena/
