Oct 2nd 2011 2:15PM In the Cata beta there was a Darkmoon Faire category within the World Events section of the achievements pane. I'd guess they were going to include this as part of Cata but decided to hold it back in order to bulk out a content patch, or perhaps as a mini-patch in line with their stated (but seemingly abandoned) wish to release smaller - but quicker - patches.
Jun 17th 2010 8:21PM There's an addon called Trade Forwarder that will send you messages from the trade channel providing someone else with the addon installed is sat in a city somewhere. Doesn't use a lot of addon chatter because it simple creates a chat channel that all of the addon users are added to.
Jun 2nd 2010 6:52PM Would be sweet, shame they don't act as personal vendor though maybe this will change in time given all the other personal vendors we not have.
May 7th 2010 6:50AM The annoying 'safecount.net' advert that slowly scrolls in from the left of the screen, over your content, is seriously annoying.
Jan 13th 2010 2:52PM Having a higher hit rating won't do you any harm unless you could replace some of it immediately for spellpower/haste (re-gem, check glove enchant, etc). The hit figures included in the article assume you have 3 points in Shadow Focus and 3 points in Misery - most shadow priests do but it's worth checking before you start swapping your hit out for something else.
And yes, great to see a spriest column!
Dec 27th 2009 9:39AM Ah ignore me, it's a 40 page preview of a much larger edition.
Dec 27th 2009 9:38AM Wait, so they release the whole thing on the internet for people to read for free, before I've even received the printed copy I paid for? I know it's Christmas but...
Nov 14th 2009 9:28PM Yeah AB is by far the most fun BG in my opinion. WSG is okay but most people end up scrapping in the middle and kind of ignore the flags, while AV always seems to be a rush to Drek (I'm Alliance). I'd love to have seen AV 'back in the day' when battles could last for hours but alas they rarely last more than 10-15 mins nowadays. EotS is like WSG in that people just seem to PVP randomly and ignore the objectives, while I just don't get the attraction of the two Wrath BGs.
Nov 10th 2009 6:20PM Thanks you beat me to it. I thought it was assumed that ZA was added to cover the gap between BT and SWP?
Sep 15th 2009 9:46PM My off-spec is shadow and I usually run with the guild as holy and with pugs as dps. I normally find that my place in the 'damage done' list sits under most rogues and the occasional death knight, but to the higher end of most other dpsers. In the weekly VoA 25 pugs I can clear 4,200 dps with an average gear score of about 215. Until very recently this usually put me in the top 5 but as everyone else's gear improves, and mine stays the same due to main spec taking priority on the new dps gear, I'm falling away.
When running heroics I can struggle to hit 2,500 dps which is due to the lack of burst dps. By the time my dps is flowing at a reasonable rate, most trash mobs are just about dead. Annoys the hell out of me when others comment on the low dps without knowing why, yet the same people are strangely quiet when you're ahead of them on the bosses.
I find it more relaxing to play as shadow compared to holy but I have no reference to compare the complication of shadow priest dps rotations/priorities to other dps classes as I've never been anything other than a priest. But I always assumed that the complexity was mirrored with all dps classes. Reading the above though I would guess that's not the case!
