Feb 15th 2012 9:34AM It would make my day to win this mount! ^_^
Feb 8th 2012 5:15PM I wish the guy that was doing Spartan UI would bring it back up to date. I really liked that UI mod, it looked great and didn't clutter the screen. I didn't use his party or raid frames though, I was running X-perl. Blizzard has done a decent job with the raid frames so I've been using those.
Also, I really miss classic decursive back in the MC days before Blizzard *ahem* "fixed" it. One button spamming for decursing with a set PR to the user's liking was really nice. ^^ No need to point/target party or raid members, just mash a button and go back to dpsing.
Is there a good gathering mod available still? Last thing I ever used was CTMods but those have gone the way of the Dodo bird since TBC if I remember correctly. Not that I really need it much anymore as we have Wowhead and the like for finding where herbs and ore veins are now but it was kind of nice to have my own personal map out.
Feb 4th 2012 3:35PM "Honestly, I don't really see the point, especially for Blizzard. As it is, the auction house queries the server an absolute ton; can you imagine the number of server queries being able to look in anyone's bag at any time would cause? Buying and selling via the AH has done pretty well for us for a long time and I doubt the system will change very much."
If Square-Enix could do it with Final Fantasy XI then Blizzard shouldn't have an issue doing it. I have found it increasingly frustrating to have to compete on the AH with certain people on my server and having a sort of "Bazaar" function would help with that so I'm not wasting time in Trade Channel trying to sell things all day. Just set my toon out and allow people to browse what is posted for sale in a local area, not across zones or cities like the AH. I think that could work.
Feb 3rd 2012 3:59AM I'm sorry but I really do feel I have to add my 2 cents to this. I have been playing WoW since Oct. 2005. In the beginning, I had a job I attended faithfully EVERY DAY (except for being sick of course ^^) but once I was off work I would go home have myself a dinner of cookies and milk and raid and then pvp from about 5pm until almost midnight every day. Still worked, still held a job. On weekends back then when the PvP honor system was still archaic and they posted the top 2000 pvpers on the servers, I spent 80% of my weekend doing PvP trying to stay on that list and I swore my arse would turn square sitting that long.
I met my wife sort of because of Warcraft. She actually played EQ at the time. We hooked up shortly after TBC was released and we have been together since.
I managed to maintain a raiding schedule (running regs, never liked the heroics much), as well as work a part time job and attend full time college where I also managed to pull off making the Dean's honor list 3 times in a row. All of this while also raising 2 kids in fact, around the time of Ulduar or Crusader's Coliseum the wife (then fiance) and I took some time out to get married. Our wedding was scottish themed but did have some little Warcraft easter eggs in it such as rings that have "soulbound" engraved in them with our wedding date, the tables were all labeled after taverns and Inns in Warcraft, and our wedding cake was made in the shape of a roasted pig we named "Mr. Wiggles" after the pig vanity pet.
So to the director of this movie or some of the others that come off with the whole "WoW ruined my life" I say suck it. I'm proof that WoW couldn't be the root and only thing that was affecting a person's life. There is something deeper and more troubling that caused them to wish to escape and hide in the game.
I still game, I have over 10k achievement points, though with my current job I have found it nearly impossible to find time to raid as most guilds don't really raid on weekends only on my server. Did I mention I have received my degree as well also while playing WoW? yeah....again, why waste time reviewing people that quit Warcraft when there are people that are still playing Warcraft currently that have actually done something with themselves?
Dec 26th 2011 10:17PM I have a possible solution for the colored gems problem. Why make Agi, Str, and Int all red when Blizzard should make Agi yellow, Int blue, and Str red? Would maybe diversify the gems out a bit better in a way that would allow the JCs to actually sell the yellow and blue gems without them being worthless right? make the Spirit and Stam gems maybe different colors from one another too? Just a thought. ^^
Dec 13th 2011 2:59AM I would have to agree with the Harrison Jones thing being way over done. Love Brann Bronzebeard, but the enitre Raiders of the Lost Ark fanfiction was a huge turn off for me. Even the Ark of the covenant thing...really Blizzard?
As for the rants on racism, really? Please get over yourself. Frankly I loved the pygmies and found them entertaining. I really did not see any racism in any of that. No more than I would in the Tauren, or the Trolls, or any of the other races in Warcraft. I could point out the "racism" in those other races but life is to short to get your knickers in a bunch over it.
Favorite quest of all time? Gnomebliteration and the quest that was part of that chain with the holograms to distract the leper gnomes. Those quests were amazing!
Dec 12th 2011 12:45PM "I'm surprised you didn't mention Rona Greenteeth and the disturbing foodstuffs she sells from her wagon in the woods behind the faire. I mean, come on...look at the tooltips on the Draenic Dumplings, Forsaken Foie Gras, Gnomeregan Gnuggets, Green Ham & Eggs, Mulgore Meat Pie, Silvermoon Steak, Troll Tartare, Teldrassil Tenderloin, & especially Stormwind Surprise."
SOYLENT GREEN IS PEOPLE!!!
someone had to say it...
Oct 20th 2011 12:02PM Yeah, what about Launchpad? I thought he was a main character in both Duck Tales and Darkwing Duck. I liked Launchpad. ^^
Oct 18th 2011 11:43AM Actually, I was going to say that part of that song is the opening to Megadeth Set the World Afire from the album So Far, So Good, So What.
That's where I first heard it. ^^
Oct 16th 2011 1:36PM @Violetarrows Queue question:
If you really get annoyed with the ads, I have a few suggestions that would help.
1) get Mozilla Firefox if you don't already have it.
2) download NoScript, it works like a software firewall and blocks most flash and java unless you choose to allow it.
3) another add-on I use on firefox is Adblock Plus for Firefox.
This should block all of those annoying ads. I am not even aware of ads on this website anymore because of these handy tools.
for additional security, there is one more add-on I recommend called https everywhere from eff.org.
hope this helps in dealing with the annoying ads.
