Feb 16th 2009 9:48PM I believe I'm just going to say "screw it". If the price to dual spec is decent, then I'll go with a solo and a group shadow spec. When I rolled my priest, it was to play shadow, and that's *all* that I'll focus on. I haven't read deeply on it, but it seems the idea of backing into your off spec isn't so much an "Oh CRAP!" as it is a "alright, we need this, this and.... you, go with your off spec" sort of thing. So.. Double Shadow for Double the fun!
Is it selfish and lacking in raid utility, yes, yes it is... but I chose shadow for a reason. Will I still drop form to throw some heals when needed, sure, only when the situation absolutely calls for it on the spot, nothing more though.
Feb 10th 2009 11:35PM Heh heh, I remember having a light argument with my girlfriend when on her first (and long since neglected) druid wanted a 2h mace. I guess I was one of the only few who read the instruction booklet.
Also when she said she trained in tailoring, enchanting... AND first aid. I mean what, THREE primary professions? WTF?! XD
So yeah, since then, I just glance at the manuals since they're "pretty" (and long since become VERY accustomed to the game).
Feb 9th 2009 8:38PM I do not go by the simple black and white mentality of "all is fair" or "if red, kill on sight" that seem to exist on pvp servers, but only on the basis if it is a completely unfair advantage (typical low level ganking, for instance). However when it comes to a fight for resources or even personal desire, if the playing field is even in some form, it should not go far past as such.
The priest was resourceful and took full advantage of the tools they had at hand, and mind control by far, being one of those tools. As it is, I also believe that on a pvp server you *have* to be prepared for anything, far more so when it is a fight for something so rare that is in the open world.
Besides as a shadow priest myself I can't help but applaud such resourcefulness!
No, what I am really having a problem is with what I am seeing from a number of comments here. It’s tiring to see pve servers constantly called out as “carebear” servers, and the sort. Just because I rolled on a pve server does not mean that I wanted the “care and protection” of Blizzard. Pvp does have an interesting aspect to it, that I cannot deny, but personally it simply is not my taste in game play style.
Nov 12th 2008 9:24AM I won't deny it, I took the s2 gear for my priest. Only for the sake that I found the whole thing incredibly... amusing. Did I want it? No, not really, as pvp isn't something I care for, and pvp gear even LESS so. I knew the items would be taken away promptly, and I didn't want truly "free" items. In hindsight, I didn't really think of server consequences (but I found a ban to be highly unlikely).
Though honestly speaking... that's quite a bug, I think the downtime would have existed one way or the other. I'm amused to the few who thought they were actually getting free gear, however I'm sure plenty fell under the same category as I did. It was just hilarious... at the time.
