Patch 3.3.5's Out of Storage error {WoW}

Jun 25th 2010 7:32PM What annoys me most is that it's not as though it's a problem that's just going to go away. By its very definition it's a problem that, unless addressed, will only get worse.

OK, I'm no programmer and don't know the implications of making a program 64-bit, but surely if anyone has the resources to do it, it's Blizz?

Patch 3.3.5's Out of Storage error {WoW}

Jun 25th 2010 5:21AM It is getting beyond a joke now - like so many posters before me have said: I'm running WoW on a 64 bit OS (Win 7) and WoW is the only game I have to turn graphics settings down - not because my PC can't handle it - but because WoW can't handle my PC.

Seriously - what's the point in having Ultra mode (which I'd LOVE to be able to use) if it crashes my game every time I fly, stand in a city, or look at some scenery?

I'd bet the VAST majority of new PCs are 64 bit - surely, after 5 years of millions of monthly subscriptions, it's not asking TOO MUCH for Blizz to release a 64 bit version (or at least a 64 bit enabled version - is that possible? I don't know!) of their client!

How ridiculous is it that, for the latest patch, I have to turn my graphics settings down EVEN MORE THAN I HAVE ALREADY?

Please, Blizz - I'm close to getting bored with the game as it is (after 5 years) - please don't FORCE me to leave!!

Jun 21st 2010 10:58AM The scorchling IS available this year - for 350 tokens!

The new pet is the Frostling, which drops in the satchel.

Just thought I'd clarify!

Raid Rx: Is addon-less healing possible? {WoW}

Jun 18th 2010 8:35PM I levelled my dr00d from 1 to 80 as resto (before dual specs were a twinkle in Blizz's eye) - my main char was created on EU launch day.

I have regularly raided 40-mans, I have farmed 5-mans, I have taken large WoW holidays.

I went from "select party member, cast heal", to some add-on I can't even remember, to xperl and macros, to grid+clique, then included decursive, then dropped the lot and started using Vuhdo (which is, BTW, awesome).

I used Bigwigs, then DBM, had an affair with BossEncounters2 and am currently settled on DXE.

I do all of this because I always want to make myself more useful, as a healer, for my raid party. I am not a purist, I am a pragmatist.

I am regularly told my healing is excellent, though I'm always aware it could improve.

I fully respect any healer who claims to heal LK perfectly well without any healing add-ons.

I would be sceptical of any healer who claims to do all this without voice prompts over Vent/TC from guildies who DO have the add-ons.

I will ALWAYS believe that, no matter how good a healer is, no matter how situationally aware they are, no matter how fast their reactions are - a healer without add-ons will make themselves an even better healer if they install and learn the correct add-ons.

So why not install them, if not for some misguided sense of holier-than-thou purism?

Jun 18th 2010 8:20PM Maybe people who HAVE the add-ons commenting on Vent?

Just a guess, and I'll hold my hand up if I'm wrong.

But isn't that just using add-ons by proxy?

Totem Talk: Restoration addons, part 3 {WoW}

Jun 8th 2010 11:29PM I have to agree with HudMap - awesome bit of code.

I haven't ever used AVR, but a lot of my guild have, and so I've suggested we start using HudMap instead. Personally, I don't think it trivialises raid fights, as it still requires you keep a high degree of situational awareness and doesn't show, at your feet, whether you're standing in the right place or not.

But I use the mod, so I'm not gonna say it's a free ticket for nubs, am I? :P

But yes, I can see HudMap becoming spectacularly popular, and rightly so as it's a very cool wee add-on!
