Apr 17th 2010 9:31PM So, quod erat demonstrandum - you have invested too much into what is, and will always be, a game.
If by the game ending your relationships automatically end, then were they ever real relationships? I'd say "no", as they only existed by virtue of a game, and so existed seperately to your off-line life.
OK, you have unique in-game interactions with these people, but surely your flesh-space interactions are much more important?
I'm playing devil's advocate here, ofc, but I think the OP has a very valid point!
Apr 17th 2010 9:00PM Well, I've played WoW now for almost 5 years.
Sometimes, I'm prevented from doing stuff (like watching a DVD,or cooking an awesome meal) because I have to do stuff in WoW.
Nothing major, but I have a lot invested into WoW (got spectral tiger - was a gift off my fiancee over 2 years ago, almost all of TCG pets, bought starry pony in fact).
I sometimes feel that WoW ending wouldn't be all that bad.
I'm not hardcore tho (except when it comes to pets), so only play 1-4 hours late-night per day.
WoW is a game - nothing more.
I challenge anyone to dispute that.
Apr 17th 2010 8:48PM You've just said one of the truest (and most sensible) things that has ever been said about WoW.

Rabid mounts coming in next patch??!!
I take back all my previous QQs!
Mar 2nd 2010 9:29PM The thing is, you don't need it.
You're being greedy, so should greed it.
Mar 2nd 2010 9:26PM In my experience, and I'm no n00b, Need rolling should be confined to when the char actually "needs" the item, i.e. when it's an upgrade.
Trade items, e.g "frozen orbs", greens, and other stuff that ANY class can equally sell on AH, but don't need to equip have, at least up until now, been a greed item.
It seems the only thing making the orbs a "need" item are the greedy muthas who are trying to out-roll and pip to the post the honest people who are still happy to roll greed.
It's a bad trend - there used to be an etiquette about the whole need/greed scenario - but now it seems you have to "need" just to make sure a ninja doesn't automatically win.
A very bad development in my humble opinion (but I suppose indicative of human nature).
Prior to inter-realm grouping, no-one would roll need on a greed item, because they would be labelled a ninja and ostracised. Now that you can group with people from other realms, ninja-ing via the need/greed system is commonplace.
Personally, I wait until a couple of people have rolled - if both roll greed, then so do I; if one rolls need, then so do I, but always with regret in my heart (but why deliberately lose something on an ever-waning principle?).
Feb 24th 2010 7:44PM The news about the Engineer pets couldn't have come at a better time - I have 124 pets now on my main and was just about to drop top-level Alchemy so I could level my Engineering for the pets.
Saved by about 2 days there, as I am in the process of gathering Engineering levelling mats.
Thanks for the heads up, wow.com!
Jan 2nd 2010 9:11PM Did you know "foam sword rack" is an anagram of "wacko farms rod"?
