Jul 20th 2010 5:42PM Hmm, I am confused. They use the name Edda which is all about norse mythology yet the game is about greek mythology instead?
Jun 12th 2010 8:37AM STO is just about the worst mmo to do this with since there were quite a few trekkies that went out of their way to get all the bonus options. Lifetime champions online, lifetime STO, multiple versions of the pre-order and multiple versions of the special edition. The only way to get them all was to buy all that which came to a total, if I remember correctly, around 600 dollars.
Adding those items to the cash shop a bit later is a huge slap in the face of all those fans.
May 14th 2010 8:25AM I have nothing against preorders themselves, however I am a strong believer that any mmo with a subscription should have all items in the game available through ingame means. Sadly the industry disagrees with me and they all add items with their preorders nobody can get afterwards or sneak in a cash shop months/years after release.
Games like Star Trek Online have shown how important the extra ingame goodies are to people, some even going as far as spending hundreds to buy every preorder version and lifetime sub to get all the extra's. Companies are in it for the money, it is in their very nature, so they will use that extra cash cow.
I can't really blame the companies, I would probably have done the same if in their shoes, but that does not mean I have to be happy about it as a customer.
May 4th 2010 8:15AM The older I get, the less fond I am of twitch based games. In contrast to strategic combat systems your age has a negative effect on your ability to perform well in twitch based games. There is a reason most, if not all, professional gamers are teenagers.
Jan 8th 2010 8:03PM I would love to test this baby out!
Jun 18th 2009 7:30AM I'd love a key for this.
Jun 16th 2009 10:20PM So weird they decide to make it easier on alts of those that mainly focus on playing one character and out of reach for most altoholics that would benifit from it the most. What altoholic would be doing the exact same boring quests day in day out when they can play an alt?
I am all for giving nice or even awesome rewards to those that work for it in endgame, but why make heirlooms part of that? Heirlooms are the holy grail for altoholics, epic gear with great stats would be much more fitting for those that grind at max lvl, or anything not related to leveling for that matter.
Ah well, perhaps I am just annoyed because I dislike the tournament junk they added and decided shortly after the introduction that it wasn't for me.
This heirloom chest I was hoping they would add is now out of my reach because I play with one important rule in mind: if it ain't fun, I ain't doing it, it's a game after all.
Jun 12th 2009 9:34PM I was one of many who got cheated when Steam just got released resulting in them demanding me to buy Half Life 2 again because of their failure. Any company that mistreats their customers so badly in the first days is a company I blacklist for life.
I wouldn't use Steam if they gave 10 games and 100 bucks for free.
They don't deserve a second chance after what they did in the early days.
May 10th 2009 8:38AM I always play with all game sounds enabled, including ingame music. If a game is lacking in either department, like Runes of Magic is, then I just can't enjoy the game. The music and sounds of a game is what brings it to life so without them I don't play which is for me the reason I stopped playing Runes of Magic.
