The Queue: Fishing {WoW}

Mar 2nd 2012 11:59AM Raiding guilds definitely definitely worry about having the appropriate resistance auras up - from shaman, paladins, hunters, etc...

They can really reduce AOE damage. Sure, the boss-specific abilities *sometimes* ignore spell resistance, but in AOE situations it's still useful.

Patch 4.3.2 released today, launch your clients early [Updated patch notes] {WoW}

Jan 31st 2012 10:38AM This might be a dumb question... but it doesn't look like the nerfs to Dragon Soul are included in this patch. Anyone know when they're supposed to happen?

Thanks!

That's a bad attitude and trolling. It's a legitimate problem. It's probably something they'll fix in the Mists release... they've admitted the current loot system is not refined yet. No reason you should be able to roll on gear you already have (especially if you already have an offspec, too!)

I think they were both grinding archaeology. At least, that's how I read it.

The Queue: An epic battle, how exciting! {WoW}

The 30/30/40 split is only "fair" if we assume that 30/30/40 is the way that the raiding population is also split. I think I read somewhere on the site that aggregates populations that both druids and death knights are two of the most popular classes and have been since WotLK.

From the raids in my guild group, the Vanquisher classes typically account for 50% of the raid (with a 40% drop rate), the Conqueror classes typically account for 20% of the raid (with a 30% drop date) and the Protector classes are both at 30%.

Breakfast Topic: Design your own vanity gear {WoW}

Nov 15th 2011 8:09AM I think I'd just want a very simple, silk dress (even for raiding!). I love the look of the fancy tier gear, but as a shaman, I think my character would prefer getting "back to nature" and not looking like she was covered in molten metal that would injure her.

Totem Talk: Choosing to play an elemental shaman {WoW}

Sep 24th 2011 10:56PM Your DPS depends on a lot of things - gear, skill and knowledge of the fights. You don't mention if you were max level or not. If you were max level, what were you gearing for? What were you running? Where did your DPS usually end up? If it was only 8-10k and your item level was below 330, then you were probably okay. If your gear was item level 350+, you'd want a lot more DPS.

My main is a restoration/elemental shaman, and I definitely top the charts sometimes. ;)

Patch 4.3: Epic gems and more on the Deathwing encounter from Ghostcrawler {WoW}

Sep 19th 2011 9:08AM I don't understand this comment. If there were no epic gems, wouldn't the jewelcrafting profession essentially have been "complete" as of the first day of Cataclysm (save the 3 meta gem recipes that were added in 4.1)? I want a profession that evolves, if only a little bit.

What would have been the purpose of doing the JC daily? Or even really getting your JC above 500? (For the non-JCs, skill level 500 is when you can get the chimera's eye).

Totem Talk: The later history of restoration shaman {WoW}

I recently went from 0/2 in TC to 2/2 in TC. My primary role is a 10 man resto shaman. I actually think there are tons of fights in Firelands which allow you to regen mana through TC. I think one of the other posters named a few... Shannox, Beth'tilac, Rhyolith. The only one I honestly don't have time on is Baleroc.

You may want to see if your heal team is maybe missing something that's causing you to have zero time for TC in your repertoire of spells.
