Nov 12th 2011 6:06PM This general comment is more concerning for me than the class specific details as it seems to imply a move to hybrid type play style for all classes;

"Hybrid classes may become more popular due to the lack of a hybrid tax and increased utility they bring, but steps will be taken to make sure the pure DPS classes don't vanish."

I fail to see what the Devs can do other than continue to define the single class roll (higher dps/ heals etc though often hybrid outgun pure especially in higher end raiding) over hybrid classes, or, give pure DPS classes similar abilities, which blurs the edges of classes and moves away from what many magi like, which is doing a single thing well.

Aug 29th 2011 8:04PM For those that simply wish to level up another alt this is good news.

For those that enjoy an unhurried rush and immersing yourself in the quest lines, then simply remove the heirlooms, avoid the dungeons. Or do all that and just go to your main city and switch off xp for a while.

I am not sure what the downside is here as there is choose available for all.

The downside for a player new to the game without access to heirlooms, guild perks etc. is an ever increasing mountain ahead in order to reach level 85 for the end-game content.

Check latest raid log stats at Raidbot, say for Normal 25 Man Raid (or any really);

Jul 3rd 2011 8:09AM To confirm as 'soon' as you enter Molten Front in Firelands with Malfurion and the new dailies, if you go into the new world tree by him, you can buy the 'Nightweaver's Amulet' neck item (ilevel 365) immediately from 'Zen'Vorka' . Costs a very reasonable 101g (mine was less with faction/ guild reduction etc.)

Worth also considering is grinding honor points (AV weekend!) to 725 in order to access the Season 9 weapons/ gear upgrades. For me as Arcane or Fire spec, this gives a very decent upgrade over the 'Voodoo Hexblade' or 'Legacy of Arlokk';

'Vicious Gladiator's Spellblade' (ilevel 372 upgraded from 359 version each costs 2450 hp) http://www.wowhead.com/item=67457

You can obtain the 359 version this week and grind the required rep, then update on the next reset from the Season 10 vendor. You may also find some of the other items give a better upgrade than existing non raid gear.

"Will my raid IDs be reset following a Faction Change?
Your pre-existing raid locks will not be removed or reset completely, but your character will be assigned appropriate raid IDs for those bosses you have already defeated earlier in the week"

This appears to confirm that it should not be possible or working as intended to be able to re-run bosses already killed.

Consider too that, that although Blizzard have now hotfixed it so that faction change will not allow you to set Heroic mode, it seems that there is nothing preventing guilds from re-running Normal bosses, which is confirmed by this thread on US forums;

This gives them the advantage over those guilds not paying for this service of;

1. Additional practice/experience of boss mechanics on live bosses (i.e. not just PTR versions which can be buggy and often not as it is live. not mentioned in the thread)

2. Allows them to farm additional gear to improve their chances come Heroic reset (
admitted in the thread)

Both these factors will give them a real and tangible advantage over those other guilds not taking advantage of this which results in in game advantage for a paid service.

As pointed out in the thread it appears as a tacit acceptance from Blizzard of this practice, given that they chose to hotfix the Heroic reset but left the possibly to Faction Change and re-run Normal content.

It also shows the ambiguity caused by differing official FAQ on Faction Change, with a clear statement on EU (see above) and nothing mentioned on the US version;

"AH HA! 14-16 Volatile Air x 40g = 560-640g!"

Commits the fatal mistake of omitting the cost of the mats to make it ie 15 Volatile Life, say around 10g/each gives say 150g cost so 410-490g profit. Still decent but poor economic advice.
