Countdown to Burning Crusade: Day 1 {WoW}

Happy new year :)

Breakfast Topic: Damage Meters {WoW}

Aug 3rd 2006 10:28AM Well said, Luka.

My guild switched to KTM a while back, and although it has some shortcomings, it helps to show when people should ease off the DPS a bit to avoid messing things up.

Compare that to the traditional damage meters which quite often encourage all out DPS with not much thought to aggro management, and you can see which meter is the more useful...

1.11 Patch Notes {WoW}

Jun 21st 2006 5:15AM Most promising item in the patch notes for me is the support for logitech G15 keyboards... unless I'm using the TS plugin (to show names of people speaking via TS on the G15's screen), it just sits there doing nothing...

Brits Bash WoW Woes {WoW}

May 9th 2006 5:12AM "even the oh-so-polite British had to stand up & say something."

"Maybe they should stage a good old-fashioned soccer riot"

Well done! 2 radically different British stereotypes in one paragraph! We're oh-so-polite and like a good "soccer riot" (Soccer? Soccer? It's called Football!)

I thought the BBC piece was covering the problems in general, not how it affects us on our side of the pond... as they quoted a professor from New Jersey, and an editor from nothing about UK experiences in their piece...

Casual Raiding and Patch 1.10 {WoW}

Mar 16th 2006 9:11AM Overall it's a good thing.

The only downside for a casual player is that they're going to need *good* PUGs to complete the instance as a 5-man team, whereas at present with 10, a team could afford to carry a few people who weren't pulling their weight.

Any increase in drop rates coupled with smaller group sizes should mean a greater chance to get some goodies - although I expect people will still end up doing multiple runs just to get a specific piece of armour.

As someone who only runs instances with fellow guildmates, I'm looking forward to the challenge...

Patch 1.9 is here! {WoW}

Jan 4th 2006 3:02PM Bit of a shame that (as usual?) some of the EU servers are *still* down after the patch... bugged quest logs and/or network outage is being blamed...

Patch 1.9 is here! {WoW}

Jan 4th 2006 5:02AM It would be 1.9 followed by 1.10 and 1.11, etc...

It's not just a number (where 1.10 *is* the same as 1.1), but is the version number (1) followed by a point (.) then the revision number (9)

Reading the US forums, it seems that 1.9 has several, erm, "issues". Can't wait to experience them myself this afternoon...

WoW easter eggs {WoW}

Dec 30th 2005 7:42AM Neither links work...

Here's one to the index of WoW FAQs (which probably won't work either!)

Dubious practices #2: Buying gold {WoW}

Dec 30th 2005 5:11AM Interesting theory, L'Emmerdeur, although given the amount of "honest" subscriptions that WoW has, do you really think Blizzard would need to run their own gold selling outfits? They're hardly short of cash...

Interesting guides you linked to... not only can we buy gold from the sites shown on your google ads, but now we can find out some nice exploits at the same time... ;-)
