Dec 25th 2009 9:26PM I don't really mess around with gearscore or that stuff. When I enter a PUG, I take a look at the tank's health; if it's under 30K, I'll generally just resign myself to a slightly longer run. I don't get too worked up over poor performance when someone is trying. The only thing that really cheeses me off is seeing "BRB five minutes" from someone as soon as I zone in.
Regarding treatment of your fellow dungeonmates, constructive criticism is okay ("Hey bud, I notice you're chanting both your weapons with Windfury and you're using daggers; enhancement DPS benefits more from WF/FT and and slow weapons, like X axe which can be found in Y dungeon").
Insults are not okay; for example, I PUGed into an Oculus random on my warrior alt a few days ago. For warrior tanks (or at least for my middling 33k health warrior tank; your mileage may vary), the first couple of pull with all the little non-elite caster whelps are a pain to get all corralled, so I usually get three or four of them and let the rest go (they die quickly, and they do non-elite damage, so there's not much danger). Second whelp pull, one of the DPS apparently doesn't like that he's taking some damage, and he lets me know this by saying "retard tank". As this was the second or third pull of the instance, I decided it wasn't worth the inevitable aggravation to stay in the instance with a player like that and dropped group (I did feel bad for the other folks in there, though).
If I see tempers starting to flare or insults starting to fly in PUGs, I try to head it off with a "calm down" or "let's just get through this" or "we haven't wiped yet" or the like. Being a jackass to someone because they don't live up to your dungeoneering ideals just isn't good play.
As for talking in instances, I occasionally try to see how long it takes for the first player to talk. In one H UP group, three things were said: "Reset?" and "Yes" at Skadi, and "good group" at the end.
May 1st 2009 5:19PM The inactive guild leader has to be inactive (i.e., not log on) for thirty days before the GMs will transfer guild leadership to another officer. At least that's what it took for me to be able to transfer leadership from our old GM to me.
Dec 1st 2008 4:12PM New little shamans will never know a time where reincarnating gave you resurrection sickness. New little Hordies will never know the joy of "LFM Healer LBRS Warlord's Command run" and the whirlwind tour that was the Onyxia attunement chain.
