Patch 3.2 upcoming Paladin changes {WoW}

Jun 18th 2009 2:54PM As a holy paladin, this potential illumination nerf was the first nerf that legitimately made me unhappy about its effects on raiding.
Seeing the Beacon of Light buff made up for it though.

We are pretty much halving our mana regen on most fights (if you're able to use divine plea regularly in a raid situation, you might as well switch to your dps offspec and help out with that imhho.)

We'll see how these two measures pan out. I expect that they'll both be eventually decreased in severity, as the standard in game design/testing is to buff something so hard that the players will actually

The beacon of light buff is excellent- I was hoping they'd use our large overhealing numbers in some way. I'll basically never be targeting the tank now! However, if the effect is nerfed (changed to something like... only X% of overheals go to beacon target) I will be very very dissapointed. There's no way I'm going to go off the main tank in that situation... I'll just go back to putting my beacon on myself or some other random player most of the time.

It'll still rock on things like Patchwerk, though.

tl;dr version:
Talking about holy paladins.
Divine Illumination nerf: very bad.
Beacon of Light buff: very very very good, but I have a bad feeling it'll be toned down to a certain extent, making sad pandas.

Ask a Lore Nerd: Yeah, I've been working out {WoW}

Feb 23rd 2009 4:41PM In the character creation screen (among other places,) the orcs are described as being traditionally peaceful and shamanistic. Other sources strongly indicate their culture has always been based upon the glory of battle. What should I make of this?

Spiritual Guidance: Too many Disc Priests? {WoW}

Feb 22nd 2009 5:51PM I always thought the stigma associated with disc has been that they steal rage/mana from tanks.

Seeing as how they've been changing those mechanics (and tanks in general,) I wouldn't be surprised if disc was actually going up in popularity.

A plea against vehicle combat {WoW}

Feb 17th 2009 8:05PM So, the argument against vehicles is "aww, but I want to do the exact same thing I've been doing for the past 80 levels all the time, with no breaks or variety?"

Back to the Horde {WoW}

Feb 1st 2009 2:18PM As someone who played through the original warcraft series at the time it came out, I have a hard time getting myself to accept the retcons that began in Warcraft 3.

I understand why they were made, but I'm just not a huge fan of retcons. Before warcraft 3, there was explicitly no demonic corruption and the orcs had been eagerly awaiting their conquests for generations.

I can get into the horde as often as I can forget the old, outdated lore. Otherwise, the conflicting lore puts me off balance, and I feel like I'm participating more in denial than redemption.
