Nov 13th 2009 1:19PM not joking about the illidari tabard either, Was a great quest but holy crap was it difficult back in early tbc. There should be a few quests like this for the well geared / prepared groups, just to give them something to do. Levelling through wrath I think I solo'ed most group quests as a arms warrior.. which kinda disappointed me in some way.
Nov 4th 2009 9:51AM Dun Morogh.. if that changes i will cry.
Sucks that we (ally) are going to lose southshore, spending 5 years defending it and we just lose it like that. I suggest on the eve of catacylsm launch, everyone forgoes whatever they are doing and meets up for one last back and forth battle across hillsbrad.
Or if no one joins me then im going to go solo Tarren Mill :)
That questline in Darkshire where you unleash "Stiches" upon the town by accident. So many memories of that, everyone leveling in the area at the time banding together to try and take him down. and well Darkshire in general, lots of fun times back in tbc, world pvp events while waiting for kara groups to form (closest FP for ally)
Oct 26th 2009 2:45PM Its not the same, but back in TBC when my guild first downed Illidan he dropped THE Shield. and Our main tank at the time (I was MT Kara through to first 4 bosses of MH.. but then AFK'ed a month. personal reasons, and he covered all of BT) nearly #### his pants. I still had most of my DKP from MH saved up (all i got was the trash cape i think) and he was BT geared to the hilt. so i could have blown him out the water. everyone bidded stupid high dkp for items as was expected, when it came to our item (master looter purposely waited lol) the other tank bidded his total, which was barely above our minimum bid level, and i didnt bid against him. i let him take the shield with a bid that was a 5th of my total. The way i saw it he tanked BT, he should get first dibs on the such an iconic item. i was almost done with raiding at this point anyway (before sunwell was announced) lots of WTFs in gchat when the winning bid was announced.
We were a team, i did what i thought was best for the guild. he was likely to farm BT more than me. The tank team always looked out for each other with drops, ok dkp planning technically is cheating, but we did it to keep ourselves all geared as a team, except tier, it was a FFA on tier (becos of other bidders)
is justified cheating still cheating? yes, but as we used to place bets in the tank channel on who'd die first. purposely out taunt each other on trash to mess with the healers and generally arse around on farm runs. I think when the job was a joyless as raid tanking in tbc was, you do what you needed to to get by.
Oct 26th 2009 2:31PM I hate the 2 hour loot thing, I don't raid often (or at all tbh) but I do try to do the holiday bosses on the rare times im online atm. Now I got extremely lucky and landed myself a Kodo and HH Mount (first and only time, i was last in group so only my summon left :) ) the problem is (running with guildies..) after you win such an item, you are bombarded with whispers off people trying to buy the item off you.
The numbers for the HH i got within seconds of each other were staggering.. I didn't sell it however, as i do think to roll and loot an item to sell is a bit cheeky, especially when running with guild members, but i don't raid so should i need money for something, a couple days of dailies usually covers my main costs fairly easily, so I keep the cool items (mounts, vanity stuff for myself) even tho at the time i didn't know the HH mount flew.. maybe thats the reason the prices offered were so mental.
Oct 7th 2009 8:47PM wasn't meant to to reply to this ^
Oct 7th 2009 8:43PM People spend 28 watching TV?? holy crap..
I admit during my worst MMO phase, i probably would have beaten 27 hours easily. 6 hours a night during the week.. possibly double that at weekends.. I'd have doubled that almost.
and this was with also working a 42 hour a week full time salaried job.
Its not until you look at cold hard numbers that you realise how much you actually play. At which point, yeah step away from the keyboard, I'm now at university and still play wow, but its couple hours a day couple times a week (I don't have access to an xbox so this is my only gaming outlet)
I just can't imagine 28 hours watching TV :o
Oct 6th 2009 3:09PM to the people who say they swear to much, can't sing. etc.
have you seen the original?
the singing style is the same, down to the effects, the swearing is in exact the same spots.
Its called a Parody!
and one of the best I've seen since Nyhm's earlier stuff.
Sep 21st 2009 4:38PM Am I the only one who will be happy to see Garrosh take over.. if nothing but for PvP reasons? Wrynn hates the horde, Garrosh hates the ally, 5 years of WoW and this whole WAR thing hasn't materialised, so hopefully this will give world pvp or something the kick in the backside it needs.
Jul 29th 2009 3:23PM thats pretty much the Choppa system from Warhammer. like rage but worse..
Jul 29th 2009 3:21PM Imp rend used to be utterly worthless back in TBC..
but then blizz reversed that on us and now as arms you must use it. I'm sure that's just blizz's way of sticking it to us for not using it.
