Mar 26th 2012 12:24PM Indeed we are. I have always been extremely introverted (much more comfortable in a book than in a group). I've been blessed with a fairly stable job, but it's in retail; I face the public all day long. I am -constantly- worried* about whether my customers, co-workers, and even my friends, really like me or if they just tolerate my presence-slash-smile back to be polite. I totally understand where the writer's coming from, but my advice would be pretty much the same as the Mama's--don't read drama that doesn't exist into the situation. Sure, it *might* be there in the background... but probably it's not.
*not in the front of my thoughts. Just as a low-level "hum" in the back of my head.
Mar 23rd 2012 12:02AM You can Ctrl-click items to get an in-game preview pane. There's also the MogIt addon (and I'm sure a couple of others by now) that add an automatic preview upon mouseover, and AtlasLoot lets you look at boss drops/crafteds/rep rewards through the ctrl-click preview as well.
As far as tabbing out to a website, Wowhead seems to be -the- go-to site for out-of-game previewing.
Mar 18th 2012 9:17PM woot, comment fail.
Mar 18th 2012 7:50PM Okay, I do recall Andorhal now, thank you Adegan and Arkonn. While Chillwind's less than 500ish yards away sticking to the roads, I can certainly sympathize with not wanting to lose Andorhal itself. (though to be fair I still question why Blizzard marked the FP on the world map; it's only there for a short time, story-wise, and once it's phased out there's not even gryphon nest stands up, let alone dead bodies marking the flightmaster's demise).
Curious about the other ones on your list, now.
Mar 18th 2012 6:55PM I don't remember that--where do we lose flight points?
Mar 18th 2012 6:54PM Sure, Swamp of Sorrows is great for boosting morale as an Alli player... and then you level past it, come back later, and it looks as though nothing you did changed anything. Horde NPC's are still going about their business in Stonard just as they were before you ever stepped rocket engine into the zone. So much for pushing the Horde back to Dreadmaul.
One of my biggest disappointments in Cata, really--as good as the phasing in the top-level zones was, it leaves something to be desired in a number of the leveling areas. (An example from a comment above--couldn't they phase the Sentinel Hill flames out once your character has defeated Vanessa? Leave the damage, sure, we all know how long Azerothian builders take to get anything done, unless they're working for Silas.)
Feb 14th 2012 11:21AM I'd disagree; while it's not, perhaps, following formal grammar rules, it is acceptable. While wikipedia is hardly the end-all, be-all of knowlege (or accuracy), http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Singular_they is a pretty comprehensive article, which if tl;dr'ed, boils down to "Recognized writers have used they, them, themselves, and their to refer to singular nouns such as one, a person, an individual, and each since the 1300s.", and "Irrespective of the debate, when used, generic 'they' [(or its inflected forms, such as them or their)] can be seen to have an implication of indefinite reference (indefinite number or indefinite gender)."
Jan 18th 2012 10:38PM Epic choice... except I've been broken by pop culture, if I heard it when a boss went down I'd be looking around to see what Daniel Bryan had to do with the fight.
Jan 7th 2012 8:47PM I've seen the question asked on the old official forums (pre-Cata) and the answer was always "there's no way to roll back one specific character". Reasoning I'm not so clear on now, I believe it boiled down to a cross between "in order to do it for one person we'd have to do it to the whole realm at the same time" and "if you didn't want to (out)level you could have turned off XP."
The latter, of course, taken out of context here, sounds like terrible customer service, but was usually phrased in that fashion by other players. Blue responses generally were more professional, along the lines of "I'm sorry that this is not a service we offer, but we feel that the 'stop XP' availability fills the demand as well as we can manage at this time."
Stealth edit: Checked Google, it appears that there's technically a rollback service but it only applies to people who've been hacked and had a server transfer forced upon them; it's not generally offered to people who "just" want to see more content with said content current for their level.
