Mar 14th 2009 8:19PM I just don't understand one basic principle guys... If you are noob anough to cast Amplify Magic on someone who can heal himself, you are a noob. Varos wouldn't be that stupid.
Plus, based on the simple fight mechanics, Mal'Ganis doesn't have the damage to down a Guardian during the sleep duration.
Plus while trying to avoid the beam Varos does, he wouldn't cast Sleep nor Mind Blast... so basicly Mal'Ganis would be standing there taking all the beam damage, or moving and not DPSing, while Varos has all the abilities to nuke him down, plus a bunch of ads to help.
But in the end... Mal'Ganis would run away and prolly come back to rape Varos while he sleeps... so Mal'Ganis wins...
Sad win, but still a win
Mar 7th 2009 3:54PM Wow I've never read a comment as useless as Bangin's...
As a warrior, I'm pleased to read posts like this one, cauz I can see the items that are comming up, and what to expect.
And I want to thank Matthew for doing all the work of looking everywhere (forums and other websites) to put it all in here.
For the stupid comments, I think no1 cares about what you think Bangin, and if you're not happy, well defend your point with facts and numbers, like someone civilised would do.
Mar 6th 2009 7:17PM I don't know if I could pick a favorite, but there's some fights that has been memorable for me over the years. I've played a priest as my main for a long time, but now I'm a pew pew warrior, so as usual, when role changes, perspective changes.
Back in the days, I liked how the warlock's mount event in Dire Maul worked, needed to be alert and on your A game.
Bloodlord Mandokir and his raptor was great (and expensive on wipes lol)
Chromaggus and the sand was good and demanding, liked it.
Like some said, Shade of Aran and Illhoof are my favorite in Karazhan, on different points. Liked Illhoof on my priest because 2 man healing this was a challenge. For Aran, it's a complete fight where you need to watch everyone or else they would go down.
Reliquary in BT is the only 25 man boss I really enjoyed in BC, but I might be forgetting some.
I never got to do 4 horseman at 60, did it at 70 and now as 80, but both versions of the fight has always been fun for me.
But my favorite encounter was Vaelstrasz. I remember the adrenaline rush when we first downed him back in the days! The fight was everything raiding should be: multiple target healing, random events, timed race, and frustrating moments. Wish they would bring another fight like this ingame!
Feb 24th 2009 6:42PM The fury nerf will be more than 10% when you think about it. Like Matthew said, it will affect bleed effects, but also rage generation, which is warrior's way to DPS. Losing 10% damage done will add an average of 10% rage lost, so longer between yellow damage, thus a bigger nerf. Add that with the HS glyph change and we have a whole new DPS rotation... no more usefull rage dump, just a straight rage dump.
I hope that the results in the PTR will bring Blizzard back to reason... As a pretty geared fury(for someone only pugging raids), I get about 4k DPS in 25 mans, and I often see Mages, locks and rogues out DPSing me with equivalent gear. Rarely see other fury catching up on me though. I don't think that affecting fury that much will benefit the game. We already need to stack over 450 hit rating to have a decent amount of rage from white damage, now we'll need to wait even longer to get all the rage necessary for a single Bloodthirst.
Anyways, we'll see the results when it goes live... hope it won't stay like this.
Dec 9th 2008 2:08PM Well, if you qualify someone who can top DPS chart with only 10% of his damage done by it's pet, yes I am a huntard! lol
My personnal view of huntards are unfortunatly centered around Beast Masters (not ALL of them)
But the ones that are sending pet in, popping Bestial Wrath and then Auto Attack.
They do mid-range DPS, their pet being 40-50% of their personnal damage. They don't play hunters, they play a puppet show where it's a 1 "beast" deal. And since most of these huntards doesn't know how to really play, their pets will eventually die, and then they will complain that the boss is too hard and it's impossible for hunters to be efficient against it.
If you've felt hurt by my comment, it might be that you're in this category... but I don't think so... you are prolly a good hunter who just likes the BM spec. I'm just not in that category. Call me a ranger maybe, but I just like the fact I can smash faces with my Bazooka spec(Explosive shot). And yes, Ranger, because I decided to skip all melee/trap ability I could, I'm not a wanna be rogue lol.
Dec 9th 2008 1:31PM My hunter is survival, and besides the steady shot nerf, I'm more than happy! seeing 15 sec cooldown on Kill shot, paired with Sniper Training... I can't wait to see myself get insane damage bursts! lol
And sorry for my Beast Master friends... you will have to learn to be less pet dependant :P
Nov 25th 2008 12:32PM On my priest I went from Holy to Discipline to try it, I kinda like it, I lost alot of +healing, but I gained better shields, and the capacity to reduce damage done to tanks... the problem is that it's not written anywhere, so I doubt that Discipline priests will get to raid as often as CoH priests...
On my warrior I stayed prot till lvl 71, where I decided to go back as fury like I was in early 70, because besides dongeons, prot takes a lot of time to quest.
My hunter and shaman both stayed Survival and Enhancement respectively, and it will stay like that.
Anyways, my highest toon is 74(Warrior), so I might eventually respec when I hit 80.
Nov 11th 2008 10:09PM Just wondering how it feels to be a Blizzard tech right now lol
Guessing it's the Tylenol, Redbull and Cofee night in their headquarters.
Also the: "Don't wait up for dinner, have important issues at work." night, if they have a wife of course lol
Nov 11th 2008 11:28AM We had over 100 alliance at first on Ysera, alliance side.
Unfortunatly, the hour and a half wait before any invasion depleted the alliance force. We were between 50 and 75 when it finally happened at 10:25pm.
For the invasion itself... I'm really disappointed... Only lasts 10 minutes, no challenge and no drops...
Blizzard managed to plan a great event, but failed at making it as big as players were hoping.
I hope WotLK opening won't be another failure...
