Mar 29th 2009 11:18AM I had theorized that progressive drop rates were possible, and I'd thought it was a good idea. Nice to see that they actually did it.
Mar 26th 2009 11:42AM I often see names that annoy me. On my server there is a toon named "Iplaynaked"- a clear violation of the rules on at least two counts.
And that's just an example. I see stupid, obnoxious crap like that all the time.
Blizzard isn't going to hammer down on every single abuse like this. The real point is what people think when they see your character's name.
Mar 16th 2009 10:41PM A good spot for skinning is Hibernal Cavern. The daily quest Polishing the Helm sends you there anyway. The worms in and around the cave yield Worm Meat when you kill them as well as Borean Leather, Jormungar Scales, and Artic Fur when you skin them. Often you can skin the kills of other players as well.
I can get a couple stacks of leather and some meat without going very far out of my way at all.
Mar 5th 2009 11:05AM or perhaps "Exterminator".
I had an idea earlier- if you get 25 titles you gain another one- "the Entitled".
The class based titles are a good idea though.
Dreamwalker for druids
Archmage for mages
Stormcaller for shamans
Mar 2nd 2009 12:33AM Why don't they just make the damn things stack? Sure, that would basically make the special bags obsolete, but isn't that happening to quivers and ammo pouches?
Feb 18th 2009 4:55PM I agree somewhat. The real problem is the implementation.
I remember when I first heard about the vehicle combats, especially the drake riding in Oculus. I was pretty psyched to check it out. But it turned out to be garbage, and now I wish they'd just knock it off and stop shoving it down our throats.
The gimmick isn't working. Maybe Blizzard can fix it, but I'd feel better about that possibility if they would debug some of the extant vehicle combats.
Feb 16th 2009 3:57PM What they did was in no way abusive. They came up with a creative solution to the problem of how to get enough tanks in OBS 10 with 3 drakes. Also:
1) The warlock had to go far out of his way to set this up. He needed a specific set of gear which wasn't exactly trivial to get, and he probably had to use a particular spec. Likely neither would have been the best for his dps.
2) The voidwalker needed a long time to build threat. It's not like that could be practical very often. How many fights in Wrath content make this tactic even close to viable? You could count them on one hand.
3) It's not like this broke the whole encounter. I'm sure it was still quite challenging.
Even if VW tanking is a problem, is the best solution a blanket nerf to all voidwalkers? No.
Feb 15th 2009 4:27PM When I'm in that mood, I fly around and farm ore. If you have a skinner, there's always leather.
Relics of Ulduar drop from anything in Storm Peaks, so you just have to find a place with plenty of mobs.
If you can find a good spot (though most are in Wintergrasp) you can farm eternals.
All things considered, though, I'm glad that there is less of this in Wrath, and that what's left is much more optional. Remember the feathers for Lower City? Ugh.
Feb 12th 2009 11:03PM How is it even possible to lose money with WOW alone raking it in hand over fist? So Activision pulls all these sleazy moneygrubbing stunts and still does so badly that not even mighty Blizzard can bail them out?
Krotchkick should be tarred, feathered, blackballed, and then fired, but CEOs don't get punished, they just get bonuses.
Feb 5th 2009 3:33AM Yeah, mages don't need any more buffs.
