Lichborne: New changes to your DPS choices in patch 4.2 {WoW}

Jun 27th 2011 10:29PM This is why I have sadly /gamequit I loved Frost DKs since they came out. I loved DW tanking, and suffered thru the constant nerf/buff regear/regem roller coaster. The 4.2 changes were the last. Having some success at PvP while being Mid Pack on PVE hardly was justification for these nerfs. Even in PvP we were hardly dominate. (See Mages, nuff said)

My DK was my main, I loved howlblast and OBs on procs and the random chances to be truly good at your class. The Hero class is a failure and should be retired. At any rate I voted with what only works. I cancelled my subscription. Be well

Lichborne: The death knight beta diaries, part 1: Unholy in Hyjal {WoW}

Aug 3rd 2010 6:32PM Has any testing been done lately on 1) How much haste actually speeds up runic generation and 2) if HB will remain be linked to HC or will the talents be shuffled in Frost again and perhaps be linked to Rime instead or just unlinked?

Lichborne: Festering Strike and other beta news {WoW}

Jul 30th 2010 9:28PM One addition, if
Blood = Tank
Frost = DPS
Unholy = PVP

Then How are DKs a hero class?
Only class to have their own city?....... No (see druids)
Able to walk on water? .... Not even

Ahhh starts at level 55 ......
Thats what a hero is now .... anyone still feel heroic?

Having all three trees able to tank and dps (yes very hard to balance but Blizzard hired pros right?) if nothing else allowed very amazing survivable DPS or a truly ungodly (yeah snicker) AoE tank or AoE Death machine for 5 mans. As DKs we can at present, make some pretty amazing toons that can dish out lots of pain, absorb or avoid a lot of pain or blends that while not extreme could do some pretty utilitarian stuff for any group.

An add runs by the tank to the healer .. DG and kite to the tank .. return to DPS

Enemy wants to hurt your healer ... Chains ........ ahhhhh healer happy .. return to DPS

Rogue/Kitty after you or your friends ... DnD ... nice red ground .. oh stealthy there you are... here I have something for you

We don't top DPS charts in raids often, we are not the tank of choice in most raids (though often liked as OT) and in PvP we are marginal though skilled players at all roles over come the limitations of the class.

Jul 30th 2010 6:10PM Agreed that there is not enough about the frost tree. I know our intrepid columnist is a UH fan and certainly a lot of attention to Blood as the only tank option was needed. However, frost is by far one of the most flexible and deadly dps specs in DW or 2H flavor. FS and OB can dish out enormous pain on single targets, and when a few extra baddies arrive there is our beloved HB to spread the pain. In ICC or any raid its nice to have a mix of DKs for synergy but this new vision for this former 'hero' class (any one remember those heady days?) UH is being moved even further into a PvP spec ala Arms, leaving Frost as the raid DPS spec. Instead of worrying about making frost talents attractive to Unholy how about some work on making the other trees more attractive to Frost? Based on the beta talent tree on MMO nothing in Unholy and little in blood is of value to add more DPS output. Unholy by its PvP focus will have to have a mix of survival and damage, Frost has one purpose only DPS. Daniel, how about spending some time in Frost or finding a die hard Frostie to help evaluate things from the '3rd' tree in the family.

Name one thing you'd change about your class {WoW}

Dec 9th 2008 11:00AM I gave up on my hunter after getting to 70. Since Hunters have only one shot that can be done while moving they are fodder in PvP (and some Raids) and because of all the "huntard" jokes due to all the children that play the hunters badly and the glut of DPSers 5-Man,10-Man and 25-man openings are hard to find.

Let Hunters use Auto-Shot on the move (penalize if you want to) and create a profession that can make Bows for gods sake.

There is not nearly enough Bows or ranged weapons that will allow a Hunter at the End Game levels to be competitive in PvP or compelling for groups.

Should Death Knights get one runeblade for life? {WoW}

Nov 11th 2008 6:32PM Exactly, In fact the Rune Blades should follow the Talent Tree of the wielder and have abilities that grow just like pets as the blade "levels". Rune Blades are supposed to be a living part of the Death Knight (Think of Stormbringer and Mourneblade from Michael Moorcock's novels)
