Know Your Lore: A second look at Maiev Shadowsong part 2 {WoW}

Jul 15th 2009 10:43PM again, I feel that the Horde attacked the Alliance at Wrathgate argument is a silly one. Until Blizzard states that Thrall (Leader of the Horde) ordered the RAS to attack both Horde & Alliance troops, then it is untrue. Do you believe that he did? Do you believe that Syvanas did? No one blames the Night Elves and by your reasoning the Alliance for the actions of Illidan. No one blames Stormwind or the Alliance for the acts committed by the Defias. No one blames the alliance for the actions of Arthas. "The Devil made me do it" and acting as a rogue faction is a bad defence for only the Horde?

While the OP stated that Varian is a racist, I never did. Maybe he is, maybe he isn't, but by your reasoning, the Forsaken are justified in their complete hatred of the living. "death to the living" was not there motto until after they broke free, their neighbors acknowledged this, and still slaughtered them because they were deemed abominations.

All I am stating is that Varian is a bad leader because revenge is never a good excuse when your decisions and actions effect the lives of so many in your charge.

Control was not the best word based upon your interpretation. Medivh promised Gul'dan unlimited power. It was his plan. Gul'dan would not even know what Azeroth was if Medivh never contacted him.

Again, the Forsaken are members of the Horde. The RAS is a group within the Forsaken. Using the term sheltered is silly as it implies that they were protecting the RAS specifically so they could kill everyone at Wrathgate. It is rediculous to make any sort of claim that the Horde had ANY knowledge that those events were going to occur. The Horde lost Saurfang Jr., the future of the Horde. In this respect he was much more important to the Horde than Bolvar was to the Alliance.

"Wrathgate was before UC so your argument is invalid." - huh!?!? please re-read my comment. I was referring to the Broken Front (Icecrown). The Broken Front occured after the Battle for the UC which occured after Wrathgate

Never did I say that they were not members of the Horde. So was Varimathras and the Horde killed him because of the actions at Wrathgate. The Horde will most likely kill Putris as well. Again using Wrathgate as any argument as to the Horde being villains is ignorant at best.

thank you

The Horde are responsible for a lot of things, but are only responsible for 1 1/2 of the things listed in your comment: killing his father figure (Anduin Lothar)

he hates the people who murdered his father - Garona murdered his father, ordered by the shadow coucil, led by Gul'dan who was under the control of Medivh (*but Medivh was under demonic influence, well so were the Orcs, has to work both ways). This leads to the Orcs, under demoic influence, burning his home

sheltered the RAS - the Horde "sheltered" the Forsaken, no one knew of the RAS's plans. The Horde are less responsible for the RAS than the Alliance are for the Defias...

attacked him when he went for peace talks - nope, the Defias did

killed one of his best friends - Bolvar? Bolvar was killed along side Saurfang Jr. by the RAS

murdered many of his soldiers who were supposed to be their allies - well didn't King Varian, leader of the Alliance previously declare All out war against the Horde during the Battle for the UC? That's like starting a fight, sticking out your arms while saying "what's up," & not expecting to be punched in the face. Sure it was from behind, but it's war man! The whole Broken Front thing is exactly why Varian is WRONG! Those deaths are on his hands
