Feb 16th 2011 4:02PM ...Geh! Reply fail! This was directed at the two who informed an otherwise uninformed player.
Why is the comment system so wonky?!
Feb 16th 2011 3:59PM As luck would have it, no, I wasn't aware of the change way back when. Between BC and Wrath, I was too busy trying to get my warlock to 70 before Wrath released; priest changes didn't really concern me at that point. And with the release of 3.1, I was having a blast with both the warlock and my shiny new DK. In short, that particular change never reached my... eyes? Ears? To each their own, in that case...
I still think the nerf is pretty well called for, though. Like I said, it makes it feel more like an 'oshi-' button now, as opposed to what others were treating it as - their primary 'heal'.
Now I just feel like an uninformed douche, and rightly so. :P Thank you for informing me.
Feb 16th 2011 3:35PM Oh, the answer to this is easy for me.
The music you hear at Maestra's Post/Raynewood Retreat in Ashenvale, where the NEs are under attack from Hellscream's forces. The first time I heard that music at Maestra's Post on my NE mage... I did NOT want to leave (so I didn't; I spent a good chunk of time there, attacking the invaders while listening to the music). The music is amazing.
Similarly, I like (though not as much) the Orcish music you hear at Splintertree Post, at least. It may be elsewhere, but I only really hear it at Splintertree.
Feb 16th 2011 3:19PM ...Any Disc priest with half a wit about rage generation for warr/bear tanks knows better than to make PW:S their only spell... hell, even I only toss up the shield on my Disc priest if health starts to drop below half...
Paladin tanks, I'm not afraid to toss a shield on, but I have to remind myself that they're taking damage from multiple foes at once. That shield may fall off faster than anticipated (such as with Weakened Soul up) - and may screw you if they're taking more damage than you anticipated, as well.
Of course, that may come down to their own fault for pulling that much damage at once/dps lollygaggin'/no spell interrupts (Shadow Blast in Ahn'kahet, anyone?), but still.
Just my two cents. I'm partway glad they're nerfing the cost to PW:S, personally, and this is WITH a Disc priest. It makes the bigger absorption amount feel a bit evened out to me, and turns it more into the 'oshi-' button I've come to see it as.
Feb 14th 2011 11:33AM I usually type 'grats!' whenever I'm fully alert of guild chat. Sometimes (heroics or BGs in particular) I'll be too busy trying to stay alive and kickin' to notice guild chat - or any chat, for that matter.
I heavily considered just making my 'grats!' a macro... until my prot pally joined a very friendly guild. These guys run stuff together often, and sometimes there'll be more than one achievement at once. Which is fine, but it makes macros much harder.
So nowadays, I type 'double grats!' or 'triple grats!'. I've even said 'quadruple' by now...
I'll be honest, I love the guild.
Feb 8th 2011 2:58PM Forget having two lvl-capped warriors (which I can kinda understand)...
I wanna know why Rossi has an Equipment set called Experimentset... *scratches head*
Feb 8th 2011 12:59PM So I found myself wondering this mere moments ago while waiting for Slashdance VS Ulduar to finish uploading to my computer, and figured I'd ask...
Q for da Queue:
How did WoW Insider get its start? Was it just a one-man blog at first, and gradually evolved from there into what it is today? Or was it a group of people who decided to start a blog/series of blogs, and gradually evolved from there into what it is today?
Feb 8th 2011 11:16AM I have my authenticator because a friend of mine was getting one anyway as a preventative measure against hacking, and he asked another friend and myself if we wanted one as well for the same reason. We said 'sure', and yeah. The blue Blizzard authenticator is still the one I use every time I log in.
And yeah, the Core Hound Pup is nice, too, although I didn't get the pup when I first got the authenticator -- the pup came a few months AFTER I got it. I used to use the pup in RP before, as the 'vicious' core hound to a madman of a character. He'd order it to attack, it'd just play around like it does... yes, fun times. It was good for a laugh once in a while.
Feb 7th 2011 4:29PM As nice as that'd be, I doubt it'll ever happen. For now, I'm going to start making plans and arrangements for BlizzCon 2011 out in Anaheim, CA.
'Sides, it's a change of pace for me. The furthest out west I've ever been was Louisville, KY, and that's not very far from the east coast. Sure, it's a bit of a stretch, but I don't mind.
Feb 2nd 2011 8:29AM Top five, in my humble opinion:
3. Varian Wrynn/Lo'gosh
4. Varok Saurfang
5. High Tinker Mekkatorque (hey, if they can use Yoda in Soul Calibur 4, they can use a gnome!)
If we count lorewise deceased, however...
3. Varian Wrynn/Lo'gosh
4. The Lich King
5. Varok Saurfang
I refuse to distinguish 'Warchief' Garrosh as a worthy competitor. It's just my personal hatred of him, tho'.
