Mar 22nd 2012 11:27PM @Old Possum: You do know this change is contrary to your wishes. With HGWT, my mage is pressed into service to get out there because I can get just about anywhere in the world faster than you can and I'll summon you when I get there. With HGWT removed, you're the one being pressed back into service to get your portal up and running for the rest of us. Worse...it changes nothing for me because you can't do it alone and I'll have to get out there with you. Now you're making mages and warlocks cooperate. This is a good change?
Mar 22nd 2012 10:41PM You know what I'd like to see? I'd like Blizzard to give mages a "variable" portal spell. A mage goes to some location in the world and "learns" the location. Then the mage can open a portal to that location just like to all the major cities. Only one variable location can be known at a time, learning a new one overwrites the last one. Then your raid could gather in some convenient spot and all port over to your raid destination together.
Beats the hell out of faster gryphon riding. I can't remember the last time I paid for a bird ride. Their flight paths are always so lame, and the constant circling they do seemed specifically designed to ensure that no flight path took less than 1 minute to arrive at your destination.
Mar 7th 2012 9:25AM And this is why I don't like hunters. These guys are so OP you could level them to 85 in BC. =p
Mar 7th 2012 9:18AM On my Mage in fire spec, no one ever goes fast enough. I almost invariably end a pack of trash with Hot Streak and Impact procs up...and counting down fast. Why are we stopping? WHY ARE WE STOPPING???
On the other hand, in arcane spec, I'm sitting to drink every chance I get.
Mar 7th 2012 9:06AM There are lots of classes I can't play. I've tried several Warlocks, but the highest they've ever gotten is to level 22 (and this is now my bank alt). I've played and lost interest in Warriors, Death Knights, Hunters, and Priests. I've never once had a Shaman. It's a mixed bag with Druids, but the one I have at level 83 is so neglected now that I've forgotten how to play it--but I've made a new one and have leveled it to 28 in an attempt to relearn the class. I have five toons at level 85: a Paladin, two Rogues, and two Mages. To be honest, I hardly ever play the Paladin or Rogues any more.
Mar 5th 2012 11:06PM With my gear reforged and gemmed to my arcane spec, my Mastery is 18.18. If that goes up by 5 it will be 23.18. If it goes up 5% it will be 19.09. I hope your assumption is wrong. Note that it says "increases mastery" and not "increases mastery rating".
Feb 26th 2012 7:33PM Mine was the same as in the article. Gut Ripper dropped while I was killing trolls in the Hinterlands on my Pally (was a couple months before BC and for some reason I thought that rep from turning in the troll necklaces would mean something someday).
I promptly sent that thing to my level 19 rogue and made her start leveling up 'till she could equip it instead of spending all her time in WSG. Didn't mind giving up the lvl 19 battleground too much, by this time I was convinced I wasn't going to get much higher than Corporal anyway.
Feb 23rd 2012 8:32AM Oh, I guess I missed jebediah54's post who also makes my point. And I don't really mean "arguing", I mean "discussing". =)
Feb 23rd 2012 8:28AM Aren't most of you arguing for pronunciation of "prot" simply offering homophones? The way I pronounce "nought" (or "naught") is the exact same way I pronounce "not", and would pronounce it the same as the word "nawt" if such a word existed. I've never heard anyone pronounce "prot" with a long o sound as in "vote" or "scrote".
Feb 23rd 2012 8:18AM I'm pretty sure it's a typo or just phrased poorly.
"Head into your images folder, select the sixth subfolder, grab the sixth image in the folder"
should probably be
"Head into your images folder, which is the sixth subfolder, grab the sixth image in the folder"
"Head into your World of Warcraft folder, select the sixth subfolder, grab the sixth image in the folder"
As long as you have the folders sorted by name and not date or size, the Screenshots folder should be your sixth subfolder (preceded by Cache, Data, Errors, Interface, and Logs).
